Last Man Standing
- 2000pt Modern Age
- No 6x3 base figures
- 6 Actions per turn
- 30min rounds. Final round is untimed.
- Figures are not set back to their starting click at the begining of a round. Damage to a figure carries over from round to round.
- If a figure is KOed, it is not placed back on the map at the start of the next round and is done for the tournament.
- Once a player's entire force is KOed he is eliminated and does not play in the remaining rounds.
- Players keep playing until every other player has been eliminated and there is only one player left standing.
- Round pairings are determined by points remaining on a player's force. No W/L record is kept.
- For purposes of certain game mechanics, the tournament is considered to be one very long game. Any "once per game" or "until end of game" effect that is triggered, does not reset at the start of the next round.
- For example, Phoenix's trait. If she resurrects during round 2, she would not be able to use the trait the remainder of the tournament.
- For example, Juggernaut's Helmet stone on his card. Once he is dealt 3 damage and it is removed, it would not be placed back on his card at the beginning of the next round.
- Theme team probs do not reset at the beginning of the next round. The amount you begin the tournament with is the total amount you can use throughout all of the rounds.
- Any object that is destroyed/used is placed back on the map at the start of the next round. Special Objects that are destroyed/used are replaced with Standard Objects.

Ran the scenario today. Overall it was a success. The players enjoyed it and had fun. There were no major flaws or issues that came up.
There was one additional ruling made at the beginning of the tourney. What if a player picks up the opposing players Gem or Mjolnir? Ruled that the "picking-up" player gets to keep it in the additonal rounds. The owner places one less object at the start of each round. If a round ends, and the object has been dropped and back on the map, it goes back to the owner. Who can then place it at the start of the next round. The one major thing that surprised me is how little combat took place. It was a 2000pt tourney and there were 9 different times when a player scored zero points. And most of the time players were scoring less than 300pts. There was only one player eliminated after playing for 5hrs. I know my players are conservative, but they played it with the mindset that it was a 300pt Con game, and not a big point sloberknocker tourney. And it wasn't a factor of limited actions or too short of a round to be able to get into the fray. They literally weren't moving out of there starting area. So to cut down on the time it took to get into the fight and push the tempo up, I made the maps smaller. The last 4 rows on either side of the map were considered to be removed from the map and figures were not allowed to occupy those squares. Rows #5 & #20 became the edges of the map. Afterwards I came up with other options that would increase the tempo the next time the scenario is run. A lower build total or A minimum point value per figure or A maximum number of figures allowed on a team. The latter two also encourage higher point figures to be fielded, and not have twenty 70pt ish figures on the map that don't do anything the entire game. On a side note, this scenario would be an excellent way to run a Keep What You Kill tournament. Definatly something that we will be doing in the future. |
