My nine-year-old daughter is learning to play Heroclix this Sunday. She got the SoG FF set for Christmas, and can't wait to play with all of the girl hero pieces.
My daughter is pretty good at strategy games, so I think she will do well with this. I'm keeping this blog to track how she does with both learning and playing the game.

Welp,
Like I thought, my nine-year-old was super excited to finally learn to play. We went over the dial and what all of the numbers meant.
We used the watchtower map, and she used Dove and Black Canary while I chose Hawk and Lady Blackhawk. My daughter locked down Hawk quickly with both characters and came out swinging. Due to a few bad rolls on her end, Dove was taken off the board three turns later. Black Canary cleared Hawk off in two turns, thanks to her rolling critical hits on both rolls.
Since she was doing so well, I finally moved Lady Blackhawk in to the fray. We spent the next six turns slugging it out until both characters were down to their last click. My typical luck with the dice reared its ugly head and I missed by one. My daughter rolled her third critical hit of the game and beat Lady Blackhawk clear off the board.
Tomorrow we're going to try ranged combat and then try a few other pieces she has collected.
