How I Value Trades
I typically base trade values on eBay's lowest BIN -$3. You could also use recently sold instead albeit this can be a more time consuming approach.
I also find most stores have a set it and forget it approach. This means they set values at the inflated release day cost and leave it there long after prices have come down.
To explain I'll take a look at the current lowest BIN price, as of 10/23/22, for ffff001 Mr. Fantastic. This figure is listed for $0.99 + $2.99 shipping for a total sell price of $3.98. However, I'd estimate the value of this figure at $1 not $4. This IMO is much closer to its actual value.
I'd estimate the exact same value of $1 for xmxs001 Storm, ww80001 Wonder Woman, and hx001 Rachel Grey which are also currently selling for a total price of $3.98 with shipping.
There are others who feel strongly that shipping should always be included in the value and therefore $4 is more than fair for the figures listed above. I strongly disagree and would never try to get that much in return for them.
This is why I've adapted this unbiased approach to keep things fair and balanced for all parties.
