Hey fellow Clixers! I've started this blog to enable me to post my custom dials in a single place and allow fellow Realmsers to discuss them as well.
I'm in the minority on how I view that dial / game design should be, but I believe my theory is superior to conventional wisdom, i.e. the unending power creep that is perpetuated by WizKids in an effort to make the older figure obsolete in an attempt to force us to buy new figures.
However, I believe this marketing method is harmful to HeroClix as a whole. Being a collectible miniatures game, what is the sense of collecting them if they just become obsolete with each new set release?
I believe that if you design figures using a comic book accurate method in an attempt to make the figure play and perform as they do in the comic books, you'll sell more Clix, while not making the old figures obsolete. It's too bad that the greedy blind eyes as Topps, NECA, and WizKids can't get this through their puny skulls. And then they add in Restricted / Modern Age as another method to hurry about the end of past sets. WizKids... don't you understand that your power creep arms race mentality has chased away thousands upon thousands of players?
OK, now that everyone understands how I view the game should be designed, I'll start posting my dials in the next post in this blog.
