Pack:
Trapper, Cinnamon would be my second choice. She does more, but the prob and long dial is hard to pass up.
1st Pass:
Nighthawk, tempted by the Blackhawk pilot. The longer dial and chance at two attacks swings it.
2nd pass:
Cave Bats, more potential plus 19 invul for Mastermind.
3rd pass:
Detective Chimp is an easy choice.
Waller KOs: AA Robin, Kid Devil, Joker, Question; AW E Cap; FCBD Iron Man; Miracle/Oberon; John Stewart x2, Iron Patriot; Shatterstar; IH Herc; CW Photon & Nitro; FF Nite Owl; 10An R Thor, E Iron Man, Weapon X; FF Kilowog; Hugo Strange; Calender Man; Legion Cosmic Boy & Lightning Lad, LE Pete Wisdom
Keep:
Time Trapper: Prob, Defenseive TA, long dial
Blackhawk. Enhancment, TK, taxi
Batman: Self healing brick. Blackhawk would be tking out.
Tough Call. Id say Chimp. Yeah the assassin can do damage (especially with the enhancement) but the little extra support (as long as no Constantine one the board) and Mystics means that even if hes 1 shotted hes hurting someone.
Best thing about this is with Rock coming back to you he can Leadership tokens off all of them...which can be a huge help.
Well, the pulls/passes didn't present many hard choices. Everyone guessed almost the same thing.
However, I did not make the same choice as everyone out of my first booster. Everyone chose Time Trapper, and even once the game started I realized my mistake... but I actually took Deadman. Thought the high attack Mind Control and defensive combo would give me more options for sniping KOs in a Battle Royale. The Time Trapper while long dial and decent attack, I thought the damage output just isn't that high as it drops to 2.
From there, I went with Nighthawk for some actual offense. And then took the Batman and Chimp as everyone else would have. And got the Rock back for some helpful leadership!
Had I been paying attention, I would have maybe taken the Blackhawk Pilot for the TK if I had suspected I would get the non-Move&Attack with Flurry Batman. TK would have helped there for sure.
And, had I been thinking more clearly I would not have passed a Probability Controller to the one player who pulled Darkseid... Darkseid pretty much auto-hit 3 targets every turn KOing somebody every attack, though I am not sure they even needed Time Trappers prob for that.
As for the game, all three non-Darkseid players had between 230-280 point teams. So we kind knew who was gonna win, haha. But its a Battle Royale for a reason, everyone scrambled to hit as many low point/short dial figs as they could to try and keep pace with Darkseid. No one bothered attacking Darkseid as you'd have to KO twice just to get any points awarded.
So with Darkseid to my left, I took a hard right at the other team who had a Lady Blackhawk and Pilot, Animal Man, Cinnamon, and Anthro. He got some good giant reach charges in with some objects that were allowed. They KO'd my Nighthawk while Darkseid sniped Deadman from a roof 8 squares away. We were playing with the rule that I only got to bring back one of my figures at the beginning of my turn and the other would be gone for good. So I went with keeping Deadman. But already one figure down...
From there though, Deadman came in, Mind controlled Anthro and BAM, no more Blackhawk Pilot. Next turn I lost the Chimp to the Omega Beams but he came back to life. Got lucky that my nearest opponent missed some shots or hit Batman who soaked it. Deadman got another mind control in on Anthro and Cinnamon was hurt. And then Batman, finally in base contact, healed up 3 clicks in one turn, (one auto-heal, two successful flurry attacks on Anthro and Cinnamon KOd) Next round Batman finished Anthro off for another KO.
So feeling ok with how things going are going in this Battle Royale, real-life decided to intervene and end our game by having an actual honest to goodness Tornado Warning in the area, so we all immediately packed it up and saved ourselves. Fun times!

Im sorry you were in a battle royal against darkside with a Clock King on the board.
Deadman is not a bad pick with his high attack and great defense...but Trapper is a good attacker, prob, and unlike most figures in the set, they're incredibly difficult to 1 shot. . .Sorry about the Tornado Warning. . .how did you guys end it then, out of curiosity.

I just double checked Clock Kind based on your comment. I don't think any of us knew to take tokens off... But Darkseid hit his willpower anyway I think.
As for how we ended, We pretty much just took our own drafted team as our take-aways. Darkseid player was winning so it seemed to work out. We didn't add any prizes to the pot. I think we were going to add in a Washington Zombie if we played the full game, but with the rush we just grabbed our teams and headed out. And no tornado in the end, so that was good for everyone!
