RUNNING COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF REFERENCE DATA
When Nimrod is attacked and would be hit, you may roll 2d6. If your roll is equal or higher than the attacker's attack roll, Nimrod evades that attack and after resolutions deal the attacker damage equal to their printed damage value.
this came up in a recent game. when Nimrod is successful and the opponent takes their printed value in damage, is that considered an "attack"? Can defense powers be used to reduce the damage taken?
It’s not considered to be an attack. All damage reducers except the roll for Impervious would apply since that roll can only be used against an attack.
I'm thinking that if you rolled a critical hit against Nimrod you would still deal the attacker's printed damage value after resolutions even though Nimrod would be hit. Based of this ruling: http://win.wizkids.com/bb/viewtopic....1d1c1a248588de

Sound about right?
I don't think so. Thanos' power says "when Thanos is attacked." Nimrod's says "When Nimrod is attacked and would be hit." Seems like the "would be hit" means Nimrod's won't trigger against a critical hit, since critical hits skip the "would be hit" step. With Thanos, skipping the "would be hit" step doesn't matter, since he only has to be attacked.
