It's been a sheer blast of a game experience for me. It feels like the old XML/MUA series but with a few modern tweaks to make it fresh and different, it's got a great cast of characters and a snappy visual style. I'm sure you'll find the game very satisfying.
And on a side note, I find myself anxious to find out when the next DLC hits. I've expected it before the end of the year, but now I'm not so sure. I figure we would have heard something, anything by now if there was anything to release just yet.

Made it through Avengers Tower co-oping with the kid. Having fun so far, friendly difficulty seems about right for him. Kingpin was a bit tough so I ended up soloing it while he watched.
I gotta say, I'm surprised to see Cable over Rogue, but I'm not complaining. Also, sounds like they got James Arnold Taylor to reprise Iceman.
I'm also very excited to see more on the Fantastic Four expansion! I had a feeling it'd center around Doctor Doom, but that feels like confirmation there!

My daughter got a Switch for Christmas, so I took the opportunity to finally pick this up and it's been pretty fun so far. I'm only a few chapters in so far, but my favorite bit has been that one hallway fight in Shadowland with the red moon in the background. Beautiful and incredibly thematic and fun, kind of wish there were more of it.
Is there ever a point, like in the original, where you can just hang out at base and re-run old missions or play something like the simulator discs in the original? That was some of my favorite stuff. Right now if I try to go back and play old chapters it says something about restarting story mode, so I haven't done it for fear of losing my progress.

All it actually resets is any mid-level checkpoints, you can bounce around levels as much as you please without resetting any meaningful progress.
Have some free time with the kid and since we already went through the storyline we decided to buy the DLC. A bit disappointed that the first two sections were just Gauntlet battles, we were both expecting story content. We started playing Shadow of Doom at least, I may try to solo the Gauntlets instead.

It’s what you get for snubbing the FF in favour of other DLC.
"Nobody important? That's amazing. You know, in 900 years of traveling time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important."

I, too, was disappointed at first that the Marvel Knights and X-Men DLC packs didn't have any real story set pieces to them. When they were first announced, I imagined a Streets of New York story mission where you're fighting vampires, maybe a few Marvel Knights villains like The Hood and a final confrontation with... I dunno, who's the biggest non-Dracula vampire baddie at Marvel right now? Or some stuff with Apocalypse or the Savage Land or something distinctively X-Men.
But Shadow of Doom was perfectly satisfying, and the inclusion of all the DLC characters in the story aspect of it made the lack of it for them a bit more palatable.
Love me some Annihilus. Dude does not get enough respect as a truly major Marvel villain. Had that brief moment during Annihilation, but we've gone back to forgetting about him.
