Hi not sure if this has already been asked but what happens to the accumulated mission points of a character if it dies? Do the mission points go away?

All Mission Point powers say You (the player) gain mission points, not the character. More the effects do not call for Mission points gained by different characters to be differentiated.
By my reading Mission Points, much like Victory Point are affected by the character that generated them being KOed.
through an official section on Mission points in the Comprehensive Rulebook would be nice if WK decided to keep the mechanic around.
Edit: You do however need a character with Mission Point generating ability to win on Mission Points since Mission Points are not referred to in the core rules, so the mechanic that let's you win the game is tied to a character.
If any of the sentences would make more sense if the verb (or any other word) was a negative please treat it as such.

Disagree on that last point. In theory, I could win on Mission Points by Mind Controlling Prime Wrecker and his Wrecking Crew.
Waller KOs: AA Robin, Kid Devil, Joker, Question; AW E Cap; FCBD Iron Man; Miracle/Oberon; John Stewart x2, Iron Patriot; Shatterstar; IH Herc; CW Photon & Nitro; FF Nite Owl; 10An R Thor, E Iron Man, Weapon X; FF Kilowog; Hugo Strange; Calender Man; Legion Cosmic Boy & Lightning Lad, LE Pete Wisdom
this makes sense, and is a good advantage for a mission point team not to lose your points, as long as there is one remaining mission point character at the end of game.
thanks for clearing this up.

To be clear you won't lose points even if you are all the Mission Point characters. It's just that those points won't do anything.
Edit: Of which I'm currently uncertain, since looking at Ms. Minutes card, there is an explanation of Mission Point that is separate from her powers.
So maybe you win even if you don;t have Mission Point figure?

You mean if you are the opposing character? I dont think you can use your opponents prime wreckers mission points to your own advantage as mind control only allows the MCd character to attack and to move. It does not mae you the owner of the mission points

Yes good point as the mission points rule is always seen at the back of the specific characters card is a general statement.

You can earn mission points by moving with Wrecker and his Wrecking Crew:
While Mind Controlled, he is friendly to my force and should be earning Mission Points for my force.

Hmm.. afaik you won't be able to use any effects associated with an opponents figure even if it becomes friendly to you for a turn. You can only perform instructions to move then or attack with it.
MIND CONTROL CLOSE/RANGE: Minimum range 6. Make a close/range attack. Instead of normal damage, each hit character halves speed and becomes friendly to your force and, one at a time, may in either order: Move and/or make an attack, then it reverts forces
Instructions
There are four instructions that characters perform. They are “move”, “make a close attack”, “make a range attack”, and “make an attack” (which allows the choice of either a close or range attack). An instruction must always be part of an action or a triggered effect. Instructions are not actions.

Wrecker has IM: Destroy Blocking Terrain, so he could move and destroy Blocking triggering his Mission Point ability.
