I played him this weekend on a CSA team for the first time. OH MY GOSH! He did SO much better than I thought he would, not only did he K-O a piece every game he was extremely underestimated and his perplex was actually useful. His defense getting better late dial was very helpful and his biggest contribution was being a token sponge plus mobile blocking for Ultraman (who had Trick Shot). No-one in any of my games every bothered with just attacking him to get him out of the way (they were afraid of an ultra-sized counter attack by Ultraman), so they went the hard route and just tried to ignore him.
This guy wins his set's award for "the challenge of figuring out how to make this dial work for you". Generally speaking, the RCE on his top click is the best chance you have of dealing enough damage, but he not only can't escape base contact there, he practically begs to get hit with a naked 15 defense that doesn't get much better until he's at death's door. You gotta keep this guy in the back row, Transporter be damned.
CSA is of course the only reason to play this piece, though it feels a bit old fashioned in the days of theme team. The nice thing about it, though, is no restriction on how to place that token. Use Perplex at your own risk - you may as well though, since he's gotta try to make a difference. The new rules on Pulse Wave might make his end-dial interesting since he can try to land that lucky blast while basing an opponent with his "finally decent" defense.

I wish I could play three of this guy just to see how hard I could get someone to laugh at me. Though with how poor he is overall, a judge may allow it. I've had a great success or two with him using him as a meat shield for Phantom Stranger (with 18 Defend) so sitting in hindering Power Ring pops a 21 defense and has a free prob to keep your opponent re-rolling to hit it. Your opponent charges and hurts Power Ring? Who cares? Perplex your defender (Stranger) and phase Power Ring around as tie-up! The guy looks like garbage, and by himself he really is. Team him up with someone who you can defend him with or boost a value or two though, and he's a decent supporter or sideline attacker. You've just gotta be in a big enough game (500 ish) and not stay in CSA keyword to do it.
Lame attack, lame damage, lame defense, lame movement, and even a lame special ability. It would have been better if they hadn't bothered. Nothing more needs to be said.
Went to play in a Galactic Guardians draft this morning....the shop was sold out of GG boosters so we got to pick whatever old set booster we wanted...I picked JL and opened the pack...There was Batman#1 common and this guy...I picked the common Batman over this turd....digging the sculpt but the dial is crap. Super rare?!? Why?
Probably gonna hafta just track down a Power Ring rare from Trinity War. In the meantime I've made a custom card that might make him better, but certainly can't have made him worse.
