So, for "opposing effects," you've got anything that an opponent actively does.

Close attack by an opposing character? Check. Ranged attack? Check. Poison? Check. Non-attack like a Captain Marvel or Human Torch "Move through and deal damage"? Check.

An important thing to keep in mind-he'll take a while to come back. If you hit him on click 4 and he takes 5 clix of damage, his dial goes to click 9 and it'll take 4 turns for him to show back up. And if all his friends get KO'd during those 4 turns, he doesn't come back.
