Cypher, huh? Never read new mutants, but wasnt his power to understand any language?
I say that to say this: what was the mid-ninties Wolverine enemy who had adamantium arms? Was it also Cypher? Cyber? Cyker?
What a dumb character....
yes, Doug Ramsey...CYPHER... could innatly understand any language. this extended to math and music, and basically any form of communication. Doug should have been president.
The Wolverine villain from the horrid 90's was CYBER. There was a similar villain who looked just like wolverine for some reason as well. he had a stupid name like steve or something. Duane? what was that guy's name? Jimbo?

and to agree with an earlier point: Doug Ramsey's codename was Cypher. Warlock just went by Warlock. His friends called him 'Lock ocaisionally. Doug and Warlock often teamed up in battle, working in concert, but they were always seperate entities in those cases, Warlock being carful to not actually "touch" Doug without protecting him. Warlock's touch (and all techno organic beings.... another thing they screwed up in the 90's....) is infectious. If Warlock touched a living thing without trying NOT to, he would make that thing technoorganic. Usually he did this to feed, mostly on flowers and such. He would transorm then drain the plant or bug or whatever, which would reduce it to dust. Warlock would never do such a thing to his best friend.
Not long before his death, we get the idea that doug has been infected due to his continued exposure to Warlock. This thread was lost until recent years when they ressurected "Douglock" who was neither Warlock nor Doug, but existed only because of those characters. Douglock was an entirly new entity, a fact that he and his teammates had to come to grips with. Unless I missed his demise; I presume he's still out there somewhere. He had a short series in the "Marvel Tech" imprint by the name of "Warlock" though it s revealed that that isn't really who he is. Is he dead by the end of the series? does he leave Earth or our Dimension? Will we just forget it ever happened? I don't know.
but at least that should clear up the inconsistencies therein.

I believe it has been retconned that Douglock and Warlock are the same person and that Douglock was the creation of the Phalanx who rebuilt Warlock somewhere with different programming.
This is what I am getting from different comic sites around the net...I don't have the actual comics to prove this so I don't know for sure.
Heroclix 5th Anniversary: Expect Nothing...you won't be as disappointed that way.
