Hey, just wondering if someone out there could help me with the rules for stealth on giant figs. There's obviously some new giants with the Avengers TA that can duplicate the Batman TA if they so wish, and so far I haven't read anything that makes me believe they can't be stealthed. It's just....it doesn't make sense! How can you justify having a giant sitting on a car and being stealthed, or under a bush or whatever... I played in a game where we allowed it, and that totally devastated my running shot/transporter team, because one, not only can i not attack at range, but two, it takes two turns to base them, and then you are pushed... My first instinct was to put one of my characters into soaring and attack that way at range. Can this be done?
I'd love to hear some takes on stealthing giants, and if there's some finer points to it that I've overlooked. Thanks!
You cannot range attack a Giant fig in stealth, even from soaring. Here is an excerpt from Rules clarifications by Hair10 the day before FForces Pre-Release:

Q: Since giant figs operate on all elevations at once, can I target the elevated section of a giant fig with an Energy Explosion attack to do splash damage to an adjacent soaring fig? *and* Since there is no terrain at the soaring elevation, can I target the soaring section of a giant fig to get around it being stealthed?
A: No. Although Giant figs can affect all elevations at once, they are only located on one elevation at a time. If the Giant fig is grounded, they are grounded. If they are on top of a building, they are elevated. You cannot target a specific "section". You target the fig and the results of any attack are based upon the elevation that the Giant fig is currently located on. To specifically answer the above questions... on the first question an EE attack on a giant fig that was grounded would do splash damage to all adjacent grounded figs. On the second question, there is no part of the giant fig that is not stealthed as the giant fig is standing in hindering terrain and that is the elevation he is located on.
It sounds funky, but that's they way rules are. Who knows, maybe there will be some clarification in Icons.
I hope this gets clarified somehow. I just played in a tournament where a giant figure with batman team ability dominated the game because no one could touch him.
