What are your house rules for no dupes? I'm looking for a variety of opinions on this, as ours is alright, but just less than satisfactory. I wonder if there's a simple way to get this rule to be truly functional.
Right now, we use "No dupes, by name or sculpt." It's simple, all our players understand it. But there are no dupes of generics, and you can still have situations arise that aren't with the spirit of the rule, either. (Apparently, some early versions of Spider-Man were spelled Spiderman. Not to mention the Peter Parker LEs, who can be paired with Spider-Men of other sets...) This isn't going to make or break us, and we do run tournaments without our no dupes rule. I'm just interested in other takes on this.
TRADES. eBay.
An Admin told me that I'm "too smart" for Another Realm. I hold that as a standing order.
No Duplicates of Named characters. And Con Artists and Doombots must be of different experience levels if you dupilcate them. Le's of characters within the same set can not be used together, unless it's the LE of a generic figure.
1/6th of the Brothers Prob. '19-'20 Season: 15-13(8 events) 2 wins, 2nd XDPS PR 9-7, 7th SOC
no dupes of named characters Generics are fine! generics are defined by figures that do not have an actula name but fall under a title! (example of generics medic, doombot, thug, criminal, shield agent, police officer, sentinel, morlock)

Hey now... MY generics have names! Some of my ninjas' names are -- Bob, Spike, Teddy Z, James, Jim, Jimmy, Jimbo, Frank, Mike, Howie, Zephram, Nico, and my favorite is Fatty.
To say they don't have names is just a slap in their faces!
In my day, we didn't have Heroclix. If you were being attacked by Superman with a 3d dumpster, you just had to hope you could outrun him.

Allow the player who wants to use 'dupes' to make his case to the rest of the group, and if it doesn't fly it doesn't fly.
I personally don't favor a 'no dupes rule' since it disallows (unrestricted) teams of SHIELD, Skrulls, etc. I'm totally cool if someone puts some thought into a multi-character team and needs two or more of the same character to make it work. One example I can think of is a "Rocket Red Brigade" using the JLA versions. The JLA TA lets them move in concert, and the 50-ish point price is good for n100 type games. (Plus in larger games you can add Dmitri or Kilowog)
