That is not true. He was misinterpreting the rule that you can't change Flight modes with TK (i.e. you can't TK a hovering figure up to soaring or vice versa). As long as both figures are on the same level (grounded or soaring) then one can TK the other just fine.

They can TK each other just fine, as long as they remain on the same elevation . You can't change elevation modes with TK, so those soaring figs who TK each other can only TK each other 10 squares away, but they're still soaring.

Pretty sure that was implied, but it took a while for me to come to terms with this, and so I thought I'd clarify.
