This isn't an issue that's actually come up in a game, but it's something I just wondered about. When using Charge with a double-based fig, do you have to make base-to-base contact with the leading square, or can you do a "spin-move" to get that extra square of reach from the move?

You can spin. The only requirement with Charge is that you end up adjacent to the target; it doesn't specify that it has to be the "leading" part of a figure. So you can squeeze an extra square of Charge out of Black Knight.
In a similar but mostly unrelated note, when preforming a multi ranged attack do you have to pick one dot on a double based figure to attack from? If the answer is yes is it possible that the other dot block line of fire to the attacking dot for PC purposes?
Catering to the lowest common denominator since Feb 2003.

I seem to recall hair10 saying that all LOF for a multi-target attack must come from the same square, but I can't find the quote right now.
That said, you can't block LOF for PC with the rear end of a Transporter. From the PAC:
PROBABILITY CONTROL (optional): Once during your turn, this character allows you to reroll one die or dice roll. Use the rerolled result instead of the original result. This character must be within 10 squares of the character performing the action and have a clear line of fire to that character. Also, you may at any time during one opponent’s turn use this character to force him or her to reroll one die or dice roll. Use the rerolled result instead of the original result. This character must be within 10 squares of the character performing the action and have a clear line of fi re to that character. In multiplayer games, you may use this character’s Probability Control only once when it is not your turn.
Notice it says "to the character" and not "to the square". So as long as the PC has a clear LOF to any part of the Double Based figure, PC can be used.
Yeah but when the rules were written the double based guys didn't exist. Thanks though.
Yes, but Sentinels did. They occupy more than one square, yet they are still a single character. If you can see any part of a Sentinel, you can use PC.

True and this is where it gets sticky, Sentinels effectively only have one dot to attack from.

Well, since PC specifies "character" and not "square attack originates from", I don't think it matters that Double Based figures have two dots. Unless PC gets FAQ'ed (or rewritten in Icons) to target squares, I'm going to stick with my interpretation when I judge.
Times like this I wish hair10 could still make official rulings on this board... it is such a pain to have to post on two completely separate boards.
Yeah that's why I don't do it. I understand I'm making this more difficult than it has to be. I just want to be sure. People at my venue tend to expect me to have all the answers even though I'm not the only judge.

I completely understand, Bud. Even though I haven't been judging nearly as long as the other judge at my venue, a lot of the players seem to ask me questions... probably 'cause I am a big enough nerd that I have everything printed out and organized in a nice, neat binder.
If you hear anything different about this, please let us all know. For now, though, I am sticking to my guns.
