The Thing (V) w/ Rip it up, Unstoppable, Haymaker, Damage shield, Fortitude
Alicia Masters
Ok, my question is: Will the Thing be able to use combo's of Feats, or will some of them cancel each other out? So could the Thing use his Charge w/ RIU + Haymaker?
Charge is a power action that allows a character to move and then make a close combat action.
Rip It Up requires a character to move as part of a move, power, or free action, so it can activate when you use Charge.
Haymaker requires a close combat action to use, so it can be used with Charge.
Rip It Up gives the character a light object, which does not add to Damage Value, but instead damage dealt, so does not fall under the rule of three. Even with the +2 damage from Haymaker, you could still Perplex Thing's damage by one and use the full combo.
HTH.

ive been playing a simular team but with sue storm but havent squeezed that extra point because i thought it fell under the rule of 3. its been a great team so far but im worried that in 500pt games im going to go up against 'big guns' like thor and the like.
anyone have any strategies to keep sue safe? i usually try to park her well away from the action but then you only have three fig to fight with and 5 actions per turn.
so in a perfect world with a perfect hit this could happen:
Thing could charge someone, hit them with a light-object and use haymaker!?!
Thing DmgV = 4 + 1 (light object) + 2 (haymaker) + 1 (Reed's BT) = 8 damage (and not be affected by the rule of 3?)
Well, they're still affected by the rule of three, sort of. They just wouldn't be restricted by it in this case. You're only getting a +3 to your damage value. Objects, critical hits and knockback damage are all damage dealt, and aren't capped by the rule of three.
In your example above, you could sub in a heavy object (not picked up with Rip It Up, of course), and do 9 damage and still be under the Ro3 cap. (You could also roll a critical hit, knocking a non-flier without damage reducers off a building, for a total for 12 damage...)

Here's what I've been playing, only gotten 2 or 3 games in with it so far, but out of those its been utterly devastating.
LE Reed Richards /w Brilliant Tactician 82
V Human Torch /w Armor Piercing 112
LE Sue Storm 49
E Thing /w Fortitude 130
E Spider-Man 97 (MM)
R Lockjaw w/ Double Time
i havent got sue storm yet (ebay...) so i'll stick with what ive got for now. tonight will be my first time using these clix and this team. i havent really played with any FanForces clix yet. I have the Ben Grimm LE (is he worth putting in instead of the Vet?)
also, while we're here can someone help answer a question for me about fliers?
If a flier is hovering, can it attack someone who is on elevated blocking terrain?
what happened to me last week was that i had (new) Joker on top of the classic outdoor map on a rooftop, but also ontop of one of the generators and he got attacked by Northstar. Can a hovering flier with no range make a close combat attack against someone on the edge of elevated terrain?
This has never come up in the years ive been playing and i didnt think this could happen?
