I have a question.
Since wild cards can use the FF feat card, can you make an Avenger a wild card using the Thunder Bolts feat card and and then copy the FF TA and then use the FF feat card?
No. Thunderbolts specifies that you can not choose wild card TAs or TAs that can not be copied (i.e. CSA, Power Cosmic, Outsiders).
Okay, I've done the digging and found the ruling, but it really is a wrong ruling. I respect Hair10 as the RA, and think he does a solid job, but the current state of the rules around team abilities, team affiliations (which is a non-glossaried term), and feats is all convuled. Sadly, it's too late to do anything but hope that DC Icons gets this ironed out in the next rules set.
What needs to be done for this all to make sense:
Team Abilities are granted to those of Team Affiliation.
Team Affiliation is based on their dial logos.
Wildcards can copy Team Afiliations.
Team Affiliations can be countered or lost.
Are their still ways to abuse it? Sure. But not as bad as Black Adam toting around Ant Man. Instead, it'll only be Hawkeye toting around a pocket Ant Man.
So as of now, the final line of Thunderbolts is a nonsensical garbel of text. Cheese away!
This was something discussed extensively on the JUDGES Forum on the WizKids site. The ruling given by Funky_Jett is correct as it stands right now.
If you do some research on the Judges Forum on the WizKids site you'll find out more info on the ruling.
Basically there are NO Definitions for Team Aability, Team Affiliation and Team Symbol in the current rules. Thus any distinction between them is moot. Each of those terms could/can and will be used interchangably.
Also Note although it was not discussed on this thread: Alternate Team Abilities are NOT Optional. You cannot NOT use the feat. If you choose to disregard or "Cancel" the Alternate Team Ability Feat you are Cancelling YOUR figures Team Ability altogether and you will have NO Team Ability.
As I stated in another thread today: Questions like these come up regularly on the Forums and the Answer always seems counter-intuiative to how we read the Thunderbolts Card and how we "know" Feat Cards should act. Someday maybe WizKids will review this ruling and move it inline with how Feat Cards are currently Ruled and how the Card appears to read. Till then Funky_Jett has given the correct ruling on the Feat Card.
