Hey all,
Quick question that just came up.
I was playing an Ultimate X-men theme team.... going up against two teams with T-bolted Avengers.
One friend T-bolted Defenders, the other T-bolted Ultimates.
We were wondering how my team ability worked.
Can I claim Avengers to get my +1 bonus.... or would I have to claim the team abilities that they were Thunderbolted into?
Just curious since most of the characters on the board had the Avengers logo on the dials.
I was under the impression that each person with the ult x-men ability could select a person or team for their plus 1 but someone said that you choose 1 person or team for the entire team to have plus 1. So therefore If I had wolvering and colussus I would have to choose the same person team/person for them both and not sepperate?
Also, what about wildcards, do you get plus one to the wildcard or the team ability that they are coping? So say I was going up against the FF alternate and wild cards choose FF and got that nice little 19 defense and I choose FF as my +1 would I not get the plus one to the wildcards even if they are coping FF?
OK, here's what I think the rules would be, although I could be wrong. You can choose Avengers as your chosen enemy with the Ult. X-men TA and it would work on everyone, because T-bolts only changes what the Avengers team ability does, not what it is. Hope that makes sense.
Also, each individual person with the Ult. X-men TA can choose a different enemy to get the bonus for. It doesn't effect the other members of the team. I think you get plus one to the wildcard, not the team they're copying, though I'm very unsure about that.
you would be able to use the +1 on both teams, for the same reason that you cant use the alt. F4 card when u t-bolts F4. it doesnt actually change your TA, just the affect that the TA has.

St. Cuthbert is correct. When you use the Thunderbolts ATA, the figure is still an Avenger. Therefore, if you use the Ultimate X-men TA or 2000AD (or Alpha Flight), and you target Avengers, you would get your +1 bonus vs all Avengers, including those using the Thunderbolts ATA.
The Ultimate X-men TA functions differently from the way 2000AD works. With the 2000AD (& Alpha Flight) TA's, you choose 1 TA or figure, and that chooses it for everyone on your team with 2000AD. With Ultimate X-men, it's better than that since it works on an individual basis. So, for example, if Ultimate Cyclops declared Ultimate X-men TA against Avengers, it wouldn't affect Professor X. Professor X is then free to declare it against Brotherhood of Mutants, for example.
thanks for the clear up.
i didn't mean to muddle the situation further with how i chose to use the ult. x-men ta.
i could have declared something different for all the ult. x-men on my team.... but the two opposing teams were like 90% avengers..... made it nice and easy to just pick the blanket ability.
less for me to try and remember.
