When you TK a fig, do you count from the fig doing the TK or the fig being moved by the TK?
So if the fig you want to TK is behind the TKer you would count 9 squares from the TKer not 10? Or if the fig was in front of the TKer you would count 11 squares from the TKer.
That's what I thought. The guy who told me it was from the fig being moved often will obfiscuate the rules to his own advantage, which is why I wasn't sure about it.
TELEKINESIS (optional): Give this character a power action and choose one of the following. Note that for option 1 and 2, the target character automatically breaks away and ignores the effects of characters and hindering terrain on movement. The target may be placed on elevated terrain but may not be placed on or in blocking terrain. This character must have a clear line of fi re to the target square. (1) It may make one close combat attack. This attack deals no damage. If the attack is successful, you may move the target character up to 10 squares. (2) It may move a target adjacent object that is not being held or a target friendly character up to 10 squares. (3) It may make a ranged combat attack using an object that is not held by another character (see the “Objects” section of the rulebook). This character must have a clear line of fire to the target of the attack.
In both cases, you move the character/object 10 spaces. You do not move it to anywhere within 10 spaces of the TKer. Thus, you count from the fig/object being moved.
Now, as far as attacking with an object: (Icons Rulebook page 28 & 29, Objects: Telekinesis)

Range is counted from the object, not the attacker.
