So I went back home this weekend and played at my old venue after being gone for about a year, and I had lots of fun.
At one point, a question came up about probability control, and the judge said something that I thought was questionable, so I'm doing what I do when the judge makes rulings I find questionable: I'm asking everyone.
Here's the situation: My Scarlet Witch is base-to-base with my opponent's Man-Bat, both on the ground. My opponent's Stargirl is sitting on a nearby rooftop, and makes a ranged combat attack at Scarlet Witch.
According to the judge, I couldn't use Scarlet Witch's Probability Control on Stargirl's attack roll, because she was base-to-base with an opposing figure.
I think this is crazy, but he said it was in the Icons rulebook, so I'm asking everyone for some clarification. Thanks.
I'm pretty sure he is WRONG, since I THINK that you the new icons rule only apply to attacks. Because I'm pretty sure you can use outwit, perplex, and PC even if your based.
Only ranged attacks are affected when in base. You can still PC, Outwit, Perplex, Outsiders TA and whatever to your heart's content, as long as you can see who you're targeting.
The only thing you can't do is give the character a Ranged Combat Action (assuming that both characters are non-flyers).
So in this example, you could still give SW a ranged combat action, but she could only target MB. Granted this has nothing to do with the discussion of PC, but still.....
