I think the villain will either be Lizard or Black Cat. I was thinking Harry would become hobgoblin (although it would be completely comic INaccurate, but so are a lot of elements in comic films), since I figured they wouldn't want to do GG again. Plus they'd use it as an easy way to bring in Hobgoblin.

I see it as GG and Spidey are having their issues as a subplot while Sandman and BC are busy commiting crimes. Spidey accidentally kills GG and Eddie Brock catches it on camera since him and Pete are rivals at the Bugle, making Spidey look like a villain. To redeem himself, Spidey takes out Sandman who has went from small crime to a "major" villain at this point in the story, and black cat falls in love and saves Spidey from Brock who transforms into Venom.

Just watch and see. it'll play out close to something like that.
