After reading Darth Sabre's great post on 'Any series/runs that you are trying to complete?' I had an idea: how about posting your latest 'back issue' purchases/finds here. Whether you get them from your LCBS, a flea market, or you discover them in your grandmother's attic - share your latest, greatest finds!
This weekend, one of my LCBS had their annual 'Sidewalk Sale'. They were blowing out tons of comics, action figures, cards, statues and more. Sadly, there were no clix marked down, but I found the following comics for ten cents each!
X4 1 (Marvel) X-Men/FF
The Hire 1-3 (Waid)
Daredevil Bullseye 1 (Kevin Smith/Glenn Fabry)
Action Comics 814,828 (Byrne)
Thor 77
Uncanny X-Men 442,453
Batman Gotham Knights 59 (Morrison),66
Detective Comics 802
Alpha Flight (V.2) 11
Aquaman (V.2) 25
New Invaders 4
Wolverine-Marvel Knights 22 (Millar/Romita Jr)
JLA 93,98 (Claremont/Byrne)
Ultimate FF 1,13
Fantastic Four 520 (Waid/Wieringo),528
Ex Machina 6
Rex Mundi 10
Ultimate Spider-Man 55
Wait, you found Ult. FF #1 for 10 cents? Danm I hate you! I know it's not the most exspensive comic, but 10 cents?! The rest were great finds too! Nice.
I just bought JLA #1 off of Ebay for $7.00, which includes shipping. I've never seen the book sell for less than $20.00.
I also bought X-Men Alpha and Omega for $12.54 (I believe) off of Ebay, including shipping and handling. Saw two of the Alpha issues sitting in my LCS, 1 for $8.00 (which I've normally seen them going for), and another for $42.00.

Yeah, weird, huh? I checked to see if it was a second print, but I couldn't find any second print statement. What was really weird was that there were a few of them... Anyway, I had never read the early issues, but #1 was quite good. Now, I'll have to look for the first trade.

Lately, Ult. FF has been pretty good. From what I HEAR, the first 6 issues were great, then it sucked up until about 20(when the zombie stuff started) but once again, nice finds!

Actually, Ultimate FF has been one of the top team books in comics, since it came out. The only arc that I disliked was the Awesome Andy/Mad Thinker arc (which I think lasted about 2 or 3 issues). The reasons being- I hate those two characters to begin with, and Jae Lee's art runis just about any comic for me.
I think what people dislike about it was the liberties that Bendis, Ellis, and Millar took with the Ultimate version of the characters. Most notably, Doom's goat legs (for some dumb### reason) seemed to piss a lot of people off.
The rest of it has been golden. If you can get the trades of the Fantactic arc, the Annihilus arc, the first Zombies arc, and the current Zombie.Doom arc, I think you'll see a really good book.
Unfortunatley Millar and Land are leaving the book after the next issue, and I'll probably be dropping it. They tend to be a hard act to follow, and I'm looking at cutting books and adding new ones.
