I'll play my next game on the DR outdoor/indoor map, and I'm wondering a few things about the walls that surround the fountain on this map; according to DRRules p.35 "Walls have no boundary lines, but they do have all the effects of blocking terrain." Since giant and flying characters ignore outdoor blocking terrain for movement purposes, are outdoor walls considered to be outdoor blocking terrain (and therefore, could a giant (or a flier) move through 'em)?

If they are indeed outdoor walls, yes. Keep in mind that they can't step/fly over the indoor walls (all the walls inside the yellow boundary).
Allright. I kept in mind right that flying/giant characters couldn't move through indoor blocking terrain, but I wasn't so sure about outdoor walls (and I needed an advice about it to make sure I played my next game right). Thanks a lot for the clarification here normalview, it will help much for tomorrow's game.

You're welcome.
As you previously noted, walls behave like blocking terrain. And since there is no specific mention that characters can't fly or move over outdoor walls (which would be different than outdoor blocking terrain), then you can cross over them. Simple as that.

That was my analysis as well, but a valuable opinion such as yours is always useful, thanks again.

Nope, you just have to stick to the wording (you just have to learn by heart a 60+-pages rulebook and 44 different powers and I don't even mention the E&C, FAQ, feats and BFCs ). Hopefully there's the Rules of Combat section of HCR and its useful ready-to-answer members .
