As a judge, whenever I run a Marquee it usually depends on who shows up. If only two people show up then they buy 3 boosters and they play with whatever they pull. If more than 3 people show up I run it the way it is supposed to be run. No matter what I do I run it by my players and if even one of them disagrees with it then we play regular.
I havn;t allowed 3d objects in a marquee since CD i think it takes away from the objects people pull, since everyone pulls out thier tried and true 3ds ... i also play in my tournaments if there is an odd number of players, but i always play somthing goofey because i am the by.
I ran my marquee standard, 300points 3 sinister (our venue let us use the boosters from our bricks/cases that we bought from them for the marquee so that we didn;t spend extra, we buy alot from them so they understand
quit calling web tokens objects dammit, they cannot be carried and have no "unique game effect" they are nothing more then sculpted "Special" cardboard squares
Aren't the 3D objects considered special objects now? It is my understanding, the only special objects allowed in a marquee are those that are pulled from the boosters.
Is this still the case?
In my day, we didn't have Heroclix. If you were being attacked by Superman with a 3d dumpster, you just had to hope you could outrun him.

While 3D objects are indeed classified as special objects now, we haven't seen anything to contradict the errata posted a few posts up.

Unfortunately I believe Normalview is right.
Personally, I always envisioned sealed events as a level playing field, and I was taken aback the first time I went to sealed event (Mutant Mayhem Pre-release) and my opponent pulled out a dumpster. :speechles
I had just started playing at a venue level and I got put in my place after I asked a judge about it. I have harbored a special enmity towards 3D objects in sealed play ever after.
IMO, if it didn't come out of the booster, you shouldn't get to use it in the match. I ended up facing 2 or 3 opponents that day with 3D objects, and one of them graciously opted not to use them after I politely asked him not to.
Guess who got my vote for fellowship?
Man I learned a lot about Heroclix that day.
I'm really not opposed to it as much now that I know the rules, but I still think allowing 3D objects into sealed events takes away from the format.

At my first marquee I was ready to throw down with just what came in the boosters, but when I found out we were still playing 3 objects apiece, the 3d objects were coming out. Being pretty clueless regarding Sealed Heroclix rules, I had avoided super strength characters when constructing my force, because I didn't think I had objects to use with them. But I was going to make the best use of what I Did include in my force, and since approximately 5 out of 6 objects on the map each round were Not pulled out of boosters anyway, what's the big deal?
