I don't remember where I saw this,
but is it true that if your character w/ SStrength is carrying an object, it can only range-combat with the actual object, i.e. the fig couldn't use RCE until it got rid of or lost the object.

that should be my last question for today
thx
Nope. A character making a close combat attack while holding an object must use the object, but there is no such rule for ranged combat.
now I know where I saw the rule.
It actually says on the DR PAC under RCE
that it cannot be used when using an object as a weapon.
Does this mean that you can't throw an object and get the +2 dmg or does this mean you can't use it at all?

It means the bolded part.

In my opinion, if you have Super Strenght, but have range of 8 or better and RS to start, you should have your piece pick up the Desk (if you are playing with Special Objects).
Every relationship is fundamentally a power struggle, and the individual in power is whoever likes the other person less.

If you have RS or HSS + SS, you may also pick up an object during the movement phase, and then throw it during the combat/attack phase. Without using Perplex, it's the only way close combat figs can make ranged attacks (sans Feats).
How does the DR robot chunk gives figs with SS ranged attacks? Is it only for figs with SS and 0 range?
It's not only for figures with 0 range. Anybody holding the Broken Drone can use it, but with a range of 4 and 1 damage, it's pretty pointless.

You're half right.
Throwing an object is a ranged combat action. As such, it can be done during a Running Shot, but not during a HSS attack or a Transporter Move-and-Attack.
