They're now the descendents of Kryptonian were-badgers. Along with their normal Kryptonian powers, they've also got the power to dig fine holes and they're ferocious fighters, especially when their opponents are canine. They've got pointy teeth with which to bite things, and if they bite you, you become a were-badger, too, every time there's an eclipse of a red sun.
They attempted to turn all of Krypton into were-badgers, but were defeated by Jor-El and sent to the Phantom Zone. They died there, but their spirits were captured there as well and were able to manifest themselves as 'solid' beings while in the Phantom Zone.
They escaped when someone who initially might've been Kara opened the Phantom Zone to let Kal-El escape back to Smallville after Lex managed to trap him in the Phantom Zone, and their spirits now roam the earth looking for bodies to inhabit until they're captured by sucking them back into Kryptonian techno-crystals.
... okay, no. Not really.
After seeing Kara eject cyrstals out of her back and tummy, I'm ready for anything. Bring on the were-badgers.

I hope you and everyone else remembers this next time you want to comment on something I made up. Sheesh. And people think I'm the only one who does this shtick.
Still, a good, funny read, thanks.
Helm of Fate: Sargon the Sorcerer: Ug. DC has such a rich magical history and they're flushing a lot of it away with these one shots. First Ibis, now Sargon get replaced with cypher legacies. Sargon doesn't need an heir, as a dead hero/villain he makes a good cautionary tale about the abuse of magic. He's returned from the dead twice to haunt Swamp Thing (with mixed results), so the doors always open, but a "new" Sargon seems unnecessary. Also, like Ibis, the new costume is horrible.
What a waste of $2.99! This was terrible. I liked the other one-shots, but this waste the worst tripe DC has put out in some time IMHO. Probably since Superman:Strength.

While not crazy about the revamp to Captain Marvel's origin, the art was fun. I'll probably pick this up, I wasn't looking for a new origin story, but it is the big red cheese.
"Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad,
He's so bad, he mak'a me mad
Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad
He's a real cad, Un-fun Dad"
Shazam! The Monster Society of Evil #1 - I don't mind the re-telling of the origin, as it comes across as a sort of "brushing" of his origin. I'm on the fence about the seperate entity thing, though. Overall a fun read. It'll be interesting to see what direction Smith takes with this. We don't get too many Captain Marvel reads, so I try and get them when they are published.
