After about a 2-3 year hiatus. I read Supergene's site and the documents are very useful. I know he lists the "retired set," so I was wondering what are the sets I can use these days. I know its the remainder, but I don't know all the sets these days, and was hoping someone can post a simple list for me. Are the box sets legal for tournament play (DC Giants, 2099, etc.)?
Also are all BFCs and Feats usable in tournament play? Any banned or limited ones?
How many BFCs do you take or use in a tournament (Its one per round of play correct)?
Is there a list of the hottest play pieces/armies around these days (to know what to get and what to prepare for)?
Thanks in advance guys,
SL

None of the "Action Packs" or "Collector's Sets" have been retired and are indeed tournament legal.
EDIT: Tarnish was right on this, which I realized after checking the Comprehensive Rules document.

BFCs and Feats that are in the retired sets are also retired. Any Feats or BFCs from the unretired sets are available for use in a restricted tournament.
The maximum number of BFCs you may use in a tournament is equal to the number of round minus one. You will have at least one "placeholder" in your "hand" of BFCs.

I don't know that anyone has put that together, but I'd check out lists of winning teams from the bigger tournaments. Your local metagame may vary.
Also, you could keep an eye out for "unrestricted" tournaments, as then you could use your entire collection.
TRADES. eBay.
An Admin told me that I'm "too smart" for Another Realm. I hold that as a standing order.
Legal sets for use in restricted are:
Mutant Mayhem, Legacy,Fantastic Forces,Icons, Armor Wars, Collateral damage,Sinister, SuperNova, and Origin.
Sets:
The COH/COV figures
Giants set
Green Lantern set
Invincible set
Hellboy set
2099 Set
Danger Room
Any Feats/BF Conditions/bystanders/special objects are legal as long as they are not froma retired set. Some have been reprinted in more than 1 set however.
You use 1 less BF condition that there are rounds in the Tournament. 1 Round you will play a "placeholder" and use no battlefield condition. (your opponet may use one however.
Try looking at Azs reviews for the Marquee of each set. It's a quick breakdown of everything ina set and how it looks.

Those reviews are specifically set in the context of a marquee (sealed, all from the same set). Many characters who shine at a marquee are next to useless in the grand scope of things...

Didn't mean to use his ratings. I meant to for him to use them as a short intro to the figs. And Azs will often coment on how a fig may be bad in a Marquee but great in constructed and vice-versa.
