I ask for forgiveness in advance if these have been answered elsewhere...
On page 29 of the new rulebook, concerning movement in hindering terrain, the rules say: "a character that crosses a boundary line into hindering terrain from any other type of terrain must stop moving."
Does that mean a character can move at half speed within hindering assuming that he doesn't leave hindering and enter it again, or must he stop as soon as he enters another hindering space no matter which space he moves from?
Also, I have heard talk that ultimates/superman no longer allows movement through water terrain unhindered, but I see no evidence in the rulebook that supports this. I would be grateful for any light that could be shed on this. Thanks.
"If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world."

You are correct: A character that starts its movement in hindering terrain can keep moving through hindering terrain without needing to stop (but at halved speed, of course).

This is incorrect. Previously, water terrain was considered a subset of hindering terrain. It has now been reclassified as an independent terrain type that is considered hindering terrain for movement purposes and clear terrain for movement purposes. Ultimates ignore all hindering terrain: Hence, they ignore water terrain when moving.
However, Ultimates no longer ignore water terrain when drawing line of fire, which means they can no longer see Submerged figures.

Is this correct? I think you may have meant something different.

Expect anything!
Don't you hate it when your train of thought derails and starts spilling chemicals everywhere?
Do you have to stop (with a regular move action without any movement powers) when entering water terrain from hindering terrain or vice versa?
Sure they are both "hindering for movement", but they still remain independent terrrain types... confusion.

That's exactly right. Water is hindering for movement, so you would stop the same way as you would stop when hitting a bush.... unless the figure was a swimmer, flier, Giant, had LC/Phase, had a TA that allowed them to ignore hindering....... you get the point
It's as simple as "treat it like a bush (hindering) for movement purposes, and treat it like clear terrain for LOF"......
just like water slows down someone who's running, be he's still above ground without anything blocking view of him, so he can still be shot.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????
