I was playing the other day in a tourney and something came up and wanted to confirm it.
Mad Hatter successfully MCs E Batman w/ 1 token and on 1st click. Batman pushes to move away. Batman takes second token, now does the mcer have to announce willpower is turned off so that bats takes a click of damage for the push and if so, when does the announcement take place. In other words, is an optional power on automatically on and if shut off, what is the timing for the annoucement?
Technically a power can be turned off at any time. So he could move him and decided I dont want your willpower to be there and you take the damage. As long as he is still in control of him. Its legal.
I thought once you finish moving bats the MC ends and you wouldnt get to turn it off.I think you'd have to announce you were not using willpower before you move him.Just my opinion though,I could be wrong.

I guess its a difference between friendly play and cut throat. Is this chess, if he takes his hand off of it he's done, with the action. Nope. As long as he doesnt start another action. He is still doing that Mind Controled move.
All it says is "as soon as the action is completed."
Besides, you can still do it before Bats moves - here would be the sequence:
1. Mind control Bats successfully
2. Annouce Bats is turning Willpower off (since he is in your control)
3. Move him. He takes a click for pushing if he already had a token.
4. Done.
Once it's all done, yes, he is no longer under your control, but he's still taken his click. All perfectly legal.
