I = Icicle
x = opponents
B = Barrier
After placing my first square of barrier to the left of the uppermost x, I was told that barrier could not be laid diagonally between the 2 "x" figures because their adjacency acted as blocking terrain the barrier couldn't pass through. Is this correct?
Thanks

hmm, i am at school so i cant check my sources right now, but i am 99% positive that is not correct. If i recall correctly, Character + Blocking = blocking. Character+character =/= Blocking. I may be way off base though.
Deadpool: This is Deadpool.
Phone: The mercenary?
Deadpool: I prefer "Well-Compensated Establishment Provocateur."
Phone: Ah, yes. Have you ever heard of the One World Church?
Deadpool: Nope
Phone: It's in France.
Deadpool: I'll pass.
Two characters adjacent on a diagonal is blocking for line of sight and movement. However, those two squares are still adjacent to each other and therefor legal for Barrier.
While 2 figs adjacent does block LoF for targeting purposes, Barrier only requires that you have LoF to one part of the barrier and that all parts be within your range. Putting a barrier between adjacent figs, essentially splitting them up, is a cornerstone of the Barrier's use and has been legal since IC.

While the right answers has been posted already, I just wanted to point out that characters in no way block adjacency, only line of fire, so it would be allowed to put a Barrier across the diagonal between a character and blocking terrain.

This set would also work for the same effect, and be a little more annoying. The two figures act as blocking for line of sight, but not for movement, hence not blocking terrain, and only need line of sight to one square where you start the barrier. I hope I can pull an Icicle sometime soon so I can try that myself.
