I just got done playing in a tournament and had some questions from this:

1. If a figure is in the corner of the roof, is his ranged halved against ground figures or is that only if you are shooting up?

2. Can a sentinel use the defend ability of another figure?

3. Does a perplex have to keep LOF/LOS? the entire time or can you perplex and then move a figure in front?

I think I got robbed on my last game by about 250 points due to a guy with more experience to try and cheat. I didn't question anything because I took his word on some moves. Turns out that I did get ripped off and some people called this guy on it. I don't know exactly how much I got suckered in this game.

1) Neither. You half the range when a non-soaring figure range attacks a soaring figure.

2) I didn't even know Sentinels had Defend.

3) Perplex doesn't need to maintain LOS.

For #2 I think he meant "could a Sentinel stand next to someone like Invisible Girl and share her defence value using her defend ability". And I would say yes since I haven't seen any exception for the big figures.

R Invisible Girl was made for the desperate Sentinel forces. A Mark VII or Mark II gains a 20 defense versus ranged attacks. A Mark I gains a healthy 18 defense all the way down his dial, and all of them can hide her behind his massive bulk.

On #3, a guy had a figure and perplexed another figure. He then moved a different figure altogether into the LOS. Is this legal?

Yes. You start the action with perplexing the value, which keeps that value until the end of the turn or until the affected figure takes damage.

I think you mean Mark III not Mark II ... and people consider you THE Sentinel authority Actually, I never even noticed what numbers they were until your post.

And this makes me really want to dig out my Sentinel now. And I really wish I had picked up a few extras when one of the stores near me was selling them off at $5 Canadian each.
