This is for HSS and Running Shot ranged attacks of course. Can they be boosted by the SHIELD team ability.
The SHIELD ability triggers when the adjacent figure performs a ranged attack, so I would say yes.
I remember this issue coming up some time ago and there was much debate on the subject. Any clear answer?
Since the SHIELD ability only works when a figure is attacking, I see it working this way..
Annihilus begins his running shot move. He is not adjacent to a SHIELD adjent. He moves 3 spaces, putting him adjacent to a SHIELD agent and then Annihilus attacks. This trigers the SHIELD ability and the damage is boosted by one. Both figures get an action token.
I also know that technically, a figure cannot be given an action durring the middle of another characters action, but the very nature of the SHIELD ability triggers when an attack is made.
I had different situation come up in a tourney. I was playing a person who was a judge-to-be and he said it was legal, but now I'm not so sure. He had a Vet Thor, a Ve Mandroid, and a Vet Shield Medic all based in his start area. On his first more he says, "I'm boosting Thor's damage to 5 with Shield, TKing Thor out 10, then Running Shooting you for 5." Was that legal?
You can only boost with SHIELD if you declare it, then carry the SHIELD guy with you whilst doing your running shot. The remark about not being able to do something with figure B in the middle of figure A's action is correct, though you ignored it. The SHIELD team ability requires an activation on a specific character, not just a general activation. They need to start and end next to whomever they are boosting.
You've been playing it wrong.
Adjacency for SHIELD or Enhancement is checked at the time the attack is made....

This example is EXACTLY how the SHIELD and Enhancement work.
You do not have to be adjacent at the beginning of the move part of a Running Shot/Hypersonic Speed hit-n-run attack.
I thought the SHIELD guy had to be next to you at the moment you declare the attack and not at the moment the actual dice is rolled.
You have to start next to a SHIELD agent, declare you are using the SHIELD ability and then perform your running shot.
I thought that ending your running shot next to a SHIELD agent would not work since you technicly cannot declare or activate the ability DURING an action and at the moment you are declaring your attack the fig is not adjacent to the SHIELD figure.
Running Shot consists of a move and then an attack, though both occur within a single action. For that reason, the end of the RS movement is when the attack is declared. Provided you are adjacent when the attack begins, which will essentially be at the rolling of the dice, you may declare the SHIELD ability boost and proceed rolling for the attack.
As for actions within actions the SHIELD ability is already anomalous, as it requires that the SHIELD agent be continually active during another figure's action, and so this is really nothing new for them.
if i do running shot and carry a shield guy with me since it says that i drop him before i do my attack I can add 1 click since the Shield guy would be next to me when i'm shooting? This sounds right to me but i'm just trying to make sure.

Legal, and a rather old trick. Try it sometime with Iron Man sometime for a 2 point, 2 location Energy Explosion running shot.
Hypersonic Speed (HSS) allows you to move and make an attack(close or ranged).
If you dont move, you can make a Hypesonic Attack(HSA) and keep building up damage.
If Superman does not move he cannot use his Ranged attack to make a Hypersonic Attack 'at range'
I write this becuase I have not seen it explicitly stated and Doctor Strange asked earlier in the thread.
