okay the scenario says, "Whenever a character you control without the Skrulls team ability on its base is defeated, you may replace that character in the square where they were defeated with a “Substitute Skrull” character you own from outside of the game."
Now, I take this to mean that if you use Skrull Miss Marvel on your MAIN force, and she gets KOed. You cannot replace her, because she possess the skrull team ability, not just from the Trait she has but it is litteraly printed on her dial(Base) as well.
Well that made me think, that even though the Human version of the Skrull/Human Figs, have a trait that say they don't have the skrulls team ability, it is still printed on their base.
Does this disquallify them from being replaced by skrull replacements as well?
Unless it's been erratad or clarified somehwere... i would take it to mean that they cannot. Since as far as the dial or base is concerned, both versions possess both team abilities.
but it doesn't say they have the team ability, but rather it is on their base...so these figures that have both team abilities on their base, even if they can't use it, it is still there on the base. so that specificness there kind of makes it confusing

Thoughts?
No...you may use the Kree/Human Ms. Marvel. The Player's Guide has erratta'd it to read that they possess the appropriate Team Ability, not only can they use it.
In the event that you are using Dum Dum, Elektra, or Yellowjacket (Human versions), I believe that you may only replace them with their Skrully version.
:edit: Which leads me to the question...if you can only replace SI Human versions with their Skrully versions, does that preclude Ms. Marvel and Captain Mar-vell from team build, since they are both over 150 points?
Well, I AM pretty awesome.
An understanding of the law of large numbers leads to a realization that what appear to be fantastic improbabilities are not remarkable at all but, merely to be expected.
no, you just replace them with any skrull from any set...but the higher the point value, the more damage it takes coming in...but i'm still confused on the part that says on the base, it doesn't say they possess the team ability, but that it's on the base
The Trait for those figures was corrected in the Player Guide.

So the Trait removes the team symbol from their base.

Correct. 150 or less. The SuperSkrull from Supernova is good, though...he'd take a huge hit should you roll too high, though.
Seems those under 100 are more managable.

The Supernova generics (Skrull and Badoon) look like good bets when you compare total clicks, cost, and potential starting damage.
Yup. I think the best candidates are:
Skrull Infiltrators (will most likely end up on their one click of B/C/F)
Jarvis (will start with Outwit)
Badoon Commanders (loses Smoke Cloud, picks up Energy Explosion, still has Enhancement)
I'm planning on using SuperSkrull:X-Men and Jarvis.
Jarvis will start with out wit obviously.
And allthought SS:XM might take a big hit. He is one of the very few skrulls that is dangerous on all his clicks. Including his last few.
And the only skrull that i know of that has regenerate.
So if he rolls that 6 and takes a huge hit when he enters. he can regen...
or flurry with fangs and claws and 10 attack. >.>

SS:X-men is probably the best high cost option availible, but using him is a big risk - if he takes a big hit your opponent might be able to finish him off as well before you even get a chance to Regenerate. And since the figure he's replacing needs to be more points, that basically means you will at most have two chances to bring SS:X into the game.
He's definitely worth bringing to the tournament though, but I wouldn't make him my only choice availible. After all, you can bring your entire Skrull collection and decide on the spot who goes on the map.

Personally, I think the Skrull Yellowjacket would be a great pick, too. No matter what you roll, you either land on:
His Charge/Giant/Outwit/Willpower click
OR
His Agent Provacateur/Mastermind/Shape Change clicks.
I'm so running him alongside w/ Skrull Jarvis and the E Commando from CT.

It's basically the same risk there... If he takes a big hit, you may not get full efficiency out of those points. Heck, what if YJ doesn't have access to Mastermind fodder when he enters the game? And again, you have limited options for bringing him into the game.
But as long as you are aware of the risk, he is definitely worth bringing.

Okay...nevermind. I misread something in the original description:

For the five “hidden” Skrulls in Secret Invasion, you may use only the Skrull version.
I took it as "if you are using Yellowjacket on your original team, then when he gets KOed you may only replace him with the Skrully version of Yellowjacket"...
what it actually says is that when you are packing up your Skrulls for your Skrull pool, don't pack the one's with the traits that say that they possess the Avengers/Hydra/SHIELD T.A. Even though the Skrull TA is printed on the base, the non-Skrully version can't be used as a Skrull.
