I think Secret Invasion was about half and half on good versus bad quality of characters. Sorry you're gettin' a crummy pull. Justice League had its fair share of #### and hotness, too, though. As a new player, it's suggested that you post characters you have and would like to play along with what else you have available to you. We can help you put together teams that way.

Talk to the guys at your store. Odds are they have piles of extra figures from the past few sets they're eager to get rid of, which would help you fill out teams you're interested in playing. You might not come up with Super-Rares or LE figures that way, but there are lots of great "regular" figures out there.

If you've got a good rapport with the group, you might also ask them if they would lend you a certain figure if you really want to try it out. Don't abuse this option, of course, but if you *really* want to play a team it might work out for you.

My playing venue and my local comics store (two different places) both have good deals on older clix. The comics place is offloading JLA boosters for $5 a pack or $50 a brick. Half price is very nice.

My main problem with SI is I have yet to pull one Skrull. Not a single one. Out of 5 or 6 packs, I have nailed at least 5 duplicates, but not one skrull.

Its moot anyway, I can't make it for the event at my venue this saturday anyway.

I do have another theme team question though. This one is on the KEYWORDS.

Is "JLA" the same as "Justice League of America"?

I have seen both (and other varaitions...), are they interchangeable?

Why don't some figs have ALL the keywords they seem like they should have? Probably to limit theme building, but I don't get why its needed.

Yep...all those Keywords are considered to be separate. Justice League of America isn't the same as JLA and so on.

They are not the same. A lot of it has to do with the title of the comic book at the time and the lineup of the team in said book. The title of this particular comic has gone through different incarnations - at one time it was just JLA, currently it is Justice League of America.
As for your duplicate madness, try trading with some of the people at your venue or check out the trade forum. Somebody somewhere may be desperately seeking some of the figs you have and they may have some figs that you are interested in. I myself get all misty eyed when I think back to my first trade...
