I have just comfirmed with Hush144 that it is indeed lojo. So people if you are going to trade with anyone in Brooklyn, NY, please be very cautious and do your homework first. Also this screen name has been around for months for him. So I would look to see more people coming out and saying they have been ripped.
As long as we represent a source of free income, the scammers will remain. Lojo is still in operation because Lojo has no reason not to be. Heroclix going under means a last chance at a cash grab before the secondary market tanks completely, so we've seen an increase in scammers -- including some erstwhile "normal" members of the community.
The thing that kills us is that filing mail fraud does not seem to work. Boy, do I wish it did. All the angry forum posts in the world aren't worth one cop knocking on the door.
The only true weapons we seem to have against these people is caution and the use of intermediaries.
Now the guy did have one piece of poor feedback, but he offered me what sounded like a fair and reasonable explanation.
That poor feedback should have been a huge red flag. Even though the guy who received the poor feedback gave you an explanation, you only help yourself by contacting the other party in that trade and getting their side of the story.
Vulture approached me about this Chase bats trade. He kept insisting on sending at the same time, and when I insisited on going though a mod he vanished into the night.
