Was this a spin off from another What if where the Heroes didn't get to go home or something like that? Was there more after it?

If so... sorry, it was the last issue of the second volume of What If? Despite the wicked cliffhanger, no one followed up on it.

If not... I'd love to know where there are new stories, because it was pretty fun.

The thing is, it feels like they were left on the "Secret Wars" planet.

If I remember right, they were left on the Secret Wars planet. The Hulk was also still around but, kept to himself. He was the "Boogeyman" of the woods or something like that.

This is one of my all-time favorite issues!
Writer Jay Faeber had intended for the story to continue into a series or mini-series and how glorious that would have been.

But I don't think the characters have ever been followed up on, not even in the pages of Exiles which is a true tragedy.

Hopefully one day we'l get to see the further adventures of Mustang and co!

yeah it was a solid read and fun.

It would make a cool collectors set for clix, doubt they would do it though. Probably not enough readership to warrant it.

Maybe a Con Exclusive? Once they get their feet back on the ground.

I suggested a few of them in a WHAT IF type set for Marvel Heroclix featuring alternate timelines, alternate universes and...What If's of course!!
You can throw some relatively unknown characters into the mix of a set like WK normally does, as long as the big guns were included in some way!

though they'd probably go with some Fan Favorite What If? Like What If Spiderman Joined the FF (Oh Wiat...that's been done)

I am a huge fan of What if comics. I have them all and LOOOOOOVE the fact that they have started putting out 4-5 new ones a year. It's like an ongoing series, but yet they don't have to come up with a new story EVERY month. One of my favorites was when Tony Stark was Sorceror Supreme. He had drop down menus on his Heads Up Display where he could select spells. It was genious.

I know this. I own the Issue that's why I mentioned him.
