Just to be absolutely clear, when a game ends because one player no longer has any figures under his/her control left on the board, the other player is not automatically declared the winner. That was the whole point of the original post. Having no figures under one (in a two player game) player's control left on the board is only a trigger that will end the game. It, in no way, shape or form, determines who the winner of the match ends up being.
QFT
My team with Jericho and Lian Harper faces 1800 point Galactus.
I'm sorry I keep seeying references from the Legion rule book, what does FF rule book state?
Same principles, but the victory determination in a tie changes to a roll off.
FF Rules p. 15
Quote
Determining the winner.
If only one player has surviving characters (characters not defeated) at the end of the game, that player is the winner.
Otherwise, at the end of the game all players count their victory
points (see below). Whoever scores the most victory points wins the game.
If two players played as an allied team, their points are added together.
If there is a tie in victory points, all tied players roll 2d6 and the player with the highest total result wins.
PS. This rule was changed from LoSH for reason not related to this thread that most of us probably dont care to re-hash
Thus, If I can put this thread to bed. If your are playing Galactus at anything other then an at home make your own scenario rules, you have 0 business complaining about the one in 50 chance Deadman or Jericho has of possessing him before you x any target off the board.
Yeah believe me I thought about building the 20 Destiny multi-TKer and Deadman team (but only cause I love Deadman)....but then I realized if Galactus is legal in a sanctioned event...
I DONT REALLY WANT TO WASTE MY TIME!!!!!!!
I recommend not playing in any event with Galactus, but if you must dont complain should the rules bite you in the Heinie Manush.

Deadman or Jericho still have to roll to maintain possession at the end of the player's turn it's only after Deadman or Jericho succeeds on the roll does the game end. Further more it's nearly impossible for a Colosssal to remain possessed at the end of the turn because most of them are between
400-800 or 600-1000.
So if you roll that miracle 2 on a 400 pt Colossal good for you
Sentinels and the Sinestro Construct are the only Colossals where this tactic will actually work because most people don't play them at full strength.

If your possesion team is Facing a Collossal that can be Possessed
and you succeed at possesing it. The game ends if your opponent does not have any other figures on his/her team. The end of turn does not occur. Victory points are calcualted as normal. If there are no KO points then the player who has remaining figures wins the game.
