I get that plasticity is for stretchy guys, Steal energy for vampires/people with draining powers, TK for those with actual telekinisis or GL rings, but...
What does Enhancement represent?
Heatwave’s character card makes it sound like it is two characters attacking from range at the same time (it’s called Support Fire). Wouldnt that mean that you would need two attack rolls to represent two characters attacking? What about those enhancement characters without range like nightmare, queen Hypolita, wonder girl, august general in iron, etc.? Is it a magical enhancement? If so, why does it only work at range and why do characters like Taskmaster have it? I’m very confused, please help by letting me know what you think it represents!
What? That's sucha a noob question. No jk. I also think of it as cover fire (Gotham PD, U-Men, Red Hood, Thor Chariot) but can also be leadership (Badoon Commander, Skrull emperor, Valkyirie) or magical increases to power.
No just kidding. It's actually them calling Chuck Norris and he comes running out and punches the target
For me, there's all kinds of things that Enchancement represents. As far as 'Covering Fire' or that kind of thing, imagine that in a round of Heroclix for you take a Ranged Combat Action requiring a roll, that means you're actually aiming, trying to hit the target.
With the 'covering fire' not needing that extra roll to damage, it's kind of like hiding behind a pillar and just shooting randomly or when the hero you are 'enhancing' is focusing on their target and you're just spraying bullets, lasers, etc. trying to give him a clear shot wihtout being fired at in return. That's also why it's +1 dmg, not +dmg based on the hero's dmg value that has enhancement.
I mean, the Red Hood (the Joker LE) has Enhancement.
The Red Hood.
*shrug*
in a way i see it more with Red Hood aka Joker than others. I mean a villain has the power or fear over his henchman and its his saying get back in there and kill the bat or i will shoot you. that as a henchman might pump you up a bit out of fear thereby allowing you more damage possibly
Except that the Red Hood (as introduced in Killing Joke) is a figurehead, not a real leader. He was there in the flashy costume to get the cops' attention, so that the real gang could get away.
That might be why the Red Hood has Enhancement; the good guys are so busy paying attention to the guy in the costume that they give the gang members a chance to make some easy shots.
I'm pretty sure that Reed went waaaaaaayyyyy beyond the rule of three in Enhancing Iron Man's Repulsor Rays, too.
Maybe that's the SP on the next Mr. Fantastic we get... +3 Enhancement
You're good. But I'm magic!

The problem is that a lot of new players come from the "race generation" they want to define their worth by the "skill" they posses in playing a game of toy soldiers.
