Venus is pretty good. She's very playable but has a drawback in her damage. I'm a big incapacitate fan and her dual target (plus an sp that lets her potentially incap all adjacent figures). Throw in some mind control, mastermind, perplex and shape change and she's pretty wiley. At 125 points, doing only 1 damage I question how often she'll be played by non-incapacitate fans.
She worked wonders for me on a sealed team w/ Malekith and some fodder. I had to rely on their Mind Control and her Incapacitate to do damage, and man did it work out for me! The constant 11 attack alleviated my worries if I was forced to push her to tie up pieces. A bit expensive, but I'm sure she'd work wonders on an Atlas team to keep momentum in their favor.
I love Venus. Put Knockdown on her. Not only is it thematic, but it works wonders on tying up your opponents indefinitely. Your opponents will literally be falling all over themselves for her!
One of my FAVOURITE AoA figs. Venus + Camouflage + Knockdown + Takedown = 144 points of fun! Camouflage Stealths her so figs MUST engage her in close combat (and, barring Ultimates TA, can't Outwit her powers). When they do, she can, with Knockdown, potentially, simultaneously DOUBLE-Incap all adjacent figs. Should someone attack her first, Takedown can Incap them if they fail. If they succeed, she can pass it off to a pog. Sure, its expensive, but fun! Push-able, but don't lose the Shape Change.
Just posting to correct fenway's review. Camouflage does not protect against outwit: it only blocks line of fire for ranged combat attacks. And Ultimates do not see through Camouflage.
Too expensive for what she does. Yes, she's annoying and steady, but she's relatively easy to deal with, too, and will have to push to be effective, wich is bad for such a short dial. Well, at least she's better than Mephisto... Sigh...
I don't see what all the complaining is about. You cannot argue with those attack values. Six 11's?? She is by far the best at what she does. We have Enchantress, Dr. Psycho, Saturn Queen and others, but they have incredible difficulty hitting their targets. Another thing that I love about this character is that she isn't a power creep. As long as you can avoid getting Outwitted or playing against a Stealth team, then you should do well with Venus.
Awesome mindcontroler/incap. Pair her with fellow atlas gorilla-man as mastermind food with tough.+regen. Only point against the dial is comic accuracy: where is the dolphin symbol? she is a siren (she is not the olympic god aphrodite, she had a conflict with her for using her name), and she has been called deep water monster. She is also seen under the water for a very long time with Namora without needing oxygen, so she deserves the dolphin symbol for comic accuracy to have a 5 there, all in all, this symbol in a character like her isn't anything that would change her impact very much.
Needs Regeneration, but she's awesome. Goes great on a Marvel "deity" theme with Hercules and Ares, even though she's technically a siren. A must for the Agents of Atlas, obviously.
I like this character a lot. Very fun to use, especially with camouflage, stunning blow, some perplex, and mastermind fodder (I'm looking at you Gorilla-Man). I like this character so much that I'm going to commission a custom Venus figure from PhoenixForce.

I got a chance to use her for the first time the other week on a 400 pt Agents of Atlas theme team. I hadn't really looked at her before, but now she is a definate favorite. With 11 attack all the way down her dail, my opponent's attack values were the only thing perventing me from repeatedly punching him in the head with his own characters.
This is a great figure. In fact, the whole Agents Of Atlas team is a ton of fun to play. I haven't played them too much (so many figures, so little play time), but when I have, they have done well and been a blast. Double Target Incap, or Double target MC? Decisions, decisions. Keep Gorilla Man nearby as her MM fodder, slap Nanobots on her (in Golden Age) and go to town.
Trade to Canada. We're friendly, and we love Beavers..........
