I've made several trades that the rest of you would certainly consider as being bad (IE; nowhere near on par/favorable to me).
But as both parties in the trades walked away happy, I reget nothing.
Probably the closest things I have to a regret is the $ spent on BatB.
For as poor a set as I think it is I really would've been better off buying singles.
I hear that!... I've spent so much cash on boosters just to see what I might get that it's sickening. I have ended up pulling two chases but now have a ton of R's that I can't get rid of. Anyone want any Rares from BatB? I'll trade them for almost anything, (and sits waiting for the jokes to roll in)
Seriously I'll trade almost all of them for a crisis Kyle Rayner in good condition. And theres alot
mind if i ask you for a list of a few of the cards that you got rid of? for the most part there are some cards that are actualy still worth something. but theres a bunch of them on ebay that are priced too high. \i can remember years ago when there were three main overpower sellers on ebay, now theres only one of them left. he also offers a price guide as well... but the prices are a fluctuation of what the cards on ebay sell for. and since he would be the last major dealer on ebay he can increase a number every now and than if he saw fit by just listing the card at a slightly increased buy it now.
i still have my cards, im still looking for more. if youve got a list of what you have left id easily pick through it.
I'm very surprised what OverPower cards go for now. Years ago I sold a lot of 10,000 of them for next to nothing. I still have a complete set plus a bunch of extras. I was putting together second sets to sell off and sold an IQ set awhile back. I should have held onto it and tried to sell it now because I'm sure that I could have gotten more for it then I did. I think I still have a few extra expansions and they are only missing a card or two if that. OverPower was a great game, but I can't believe that people are buying it up the way they are now. I sold an extar holo Ra's al Ghul for about $75 a few years back. That's another one I should have held on to.
I won a Hal Jordan LE a the local Legacy Pre-Release. I alreaady had one, so I traded it for one of the uniques in the set-- Zod, I think (certainly not one of the "Big Three" of Ares, GL, or Flash). I had no idea what he was going for at the time, but when I check on ebay later that day, I saw it was about $50. Ouch!
great thread btw
way back in the day at my shop when Ultimate set Thor was still fetching big Dollars I would do anything for him.... So I traded a Count Naferia for Ultimates Thor straight up..... not sure if that was a good or bad one

You got a hell of a deal. That other guy should get on here and post this story here instead of you. I think he got hosed.

REALLY?! You start this thread now? Okay, I'll play along. Maybe it'll do me good to talk about it.
I very recently made a trade, that I was extremely happy with. I received 7 Modern Age SRs, about 8 older Uniques and about 30 odd and end REV figs for a good number of my old Overpower cards. I hadn't played with the cards in years and years, and thought this would be a good way for one hobby to reinvest in another. I was very pleased, right up until I stumbled upon a few Overpower auctions on eBay. I can not believe that those old cards are fetching the kinds of prices they are. If I had sold the cards outright, I would have probably made $500-800. That'll teach me to research my trades a little better next time.
I feel your pain. I traded my overpower collection too and it include almost every Marvel card made. I got a Thorbuster and SotS Surfer out of the deal. Shipping was $60 since it was a international trade (1st mistake). I was reluctant but the guy seemed really happy about it and it was just collecting dust in my closet, I felt it was the right thing to do (2nd mistake. No good deed goes unpunished). I left the trade opened ended and allowed him to judge the collection and trade me what he thought it was worth as long as it included Thorbuster and SotS (3rd mistake). He messages me sometime later and tells me he was going to sell just the duplicates for like $250. The collection was probably worth close to 1k.
I've never made a trade that I, personally, felt was bad. From a pure $$$ stand point, though, I've done several trades that would probably have some raise their eyebrows.
For example, I never really buy any DC sets. I just don't. The occasional sealed event to support my venue and that's it. But I will also admit that there have been some pretty awesome feats, BFCs, and special objects in the DC sets. And back before print and play, I have quite willingly traded figures (even the occasional SR/Unique) to get the DC cardboard I wanted. And I am not talking about ICWO, either (I actually pulled on at the Marque event, so I didn't need to hunt that down)... just stuff like the reprinted Pounce or Compel and such.
But I was happy with those trades, and that's all that really matters to me.

Ouch!!! I feel your pain on that. At least you realized where you made the mistakes and learn from them. I still don't understand why OverPower is going for so mcuch these days. Are people just collecting it or is there some secret underground OverPower ring somewhere that I don't know about?
