SorrowDragon's comments in another thread about the Govt Building got me thinking- what buildings do you aim to secure at all costs? What abilities are you looking for?

For me, I'm a big fan of Discount to help my dice efficiency out. Radar Network is also awesome, so when I run GUARD I definitely want my Defense Base secured. If I'm using one of my other Factions I'll go for an Apartment Building instead (my other Factions all have Nature type monsters, so I can munch down on them as well later on).

But there are so many great bonuses you can get from other buildings too. So what do you like most?

One of my absolute favorites is the Newspaper Building. Discount is nice, but it works once per turn per building secured. On many maps, you can place a Newspaper building adjacent to 2 spawn points, allowing you to get the 1A discount effect twice for the same investment that an apartment building grants you. At 4 defense, it's a little fragile, and I don't have a Fire Engine to protect it, but for as long as it lasts, it really makes your A dice pool go a lot further.

Another ability I like is Shuffle. Insurance Company HQ is the generic Go To for that, since it has a double benefit in Insurance, and it has a good defense. Sun Industries is a great building, because it has both Shuffle and Discount on it, among other things. It's a fantastic base building to use.

For me it's the Insurance builing, to make sure those P-dice keep coming, and the Statue of Liberty, for rolling that B-die when I power up. Other buildings just depend on what I'm playing. Sometimes it's Radar Array, sometimes it's the Imperial State Building, and sometimes it's Mount Terra.
