Even so, most of Dark Horse's Conan books are reprints of the old Marvel books.
As for Howard, I never did see what was so great about the character.
1) Dark Horse has been running an all-new Conan book for a couple of years now.
2) Howard was freaking hilarious; back in the 1970's (during the Gerber days), everybody was reading that book (especially people who "don't read comic books"). This was during the salad days of SNL and National Lampoon (pre-Animal House, after which the mag went right down the crapper). "Subversive" humor was very "in".
Aside from that -- Bev wearing nothing but a towel. HELL YEAH!

I wasn't aware of that. Not really a character I follow too much.

Eh. I never was a fan of Howard.
SNL I liked, too bad these days it's just not that great a show.
I agree with you about National Lampoon.

Reading up on that, the last mini-series Howard had was a MAX series and she showed more flesh and proved her relationship with Howard was one of beastality.

I haven't paid a bit of attention to Howard the Duck since the B&W mag folded sometime in 1980 or 1981. But the business about Bev and Howard sleeping together goes back to a time right after Gerber left the book; it was openly discussed in the B&W mag.
I believe it's where the expression "lucky duck" originated.

Well, all I know is this was in color and graphic. And it was in 2001, I think. It was also written by Gerber when he tried to swindle Howard away from Marvel.
This is not really a new thing in comics. Its like 4 batman books that have batman in the same universe and like 3 Deadpools in one universe. Marvel has done books like this for a while now
