yes. Damage Dealt can not be reduced below 1 with Armor Piercing. Impervious Reduces Damage by 2 or to 0 depending on the roll. Either way it attempts to reduce damage, which Armor Piercing provides a way around.
If you let them kill your dreams, it'll haunt you.

Now, if something ignored damage entirely, like Protected, AP would not work since nothing is reduced. Ingore =/= reduced.
PROTECTED
Choose a character.
(Optional) If the character does not already have two action tokens on it, damage dealt to the character as a result of a single action is ignored. After that action is resolved, give the character an action token and remove this feat from the game. If the character already had one action token on it, giving it a second action token deals pushing damage normally.
Would this mean that the Armor piercing feat is countering or ignoring (my understanding is that there is an important rules difference here) the impervious? In situations where the character being attacked had the Power Cosmic or Quintessence team abilities on top of the impervious, would the damage still get through?

Neither. It prevents the reduction. Or part of it.
