In my tournaments, two of my friends, one of which was used to be a judge, says that if the character using or being perplexed or outwit takes damage, the power is countered. As to say, if I hit his perplex piece, and he doesn't lose perplex, the piece he perplexed, unless it is him/herself, loses the modification, or if I outwit toughness and do 1 damage, and the character still has toughness, or I get hit after outwitting Ranged Combat Expert, and I don't lose outwit, it still comes back. This sounds bogus to me, but I want verification before I say anything to them saying otherwise.

If the character that used outwit or perplex loses the power, the effect is gone. However, if they are damage and the same power is still showing, its effects continue.

But just to be clear, the character that is the target of Perplex loses the modifier when healed or damaged.
Fig A has perplex and targets Fig B. Fig B damaged or healed - fig loses perplex bonus.
Fig A damaged or healed and keeps perplex on dial - no change.
Fig A damaged or healed and perplex not showing - fig loses perplex bonus
Fig A has perplex and targets Fig A. Fig A damaged or healed and perplex still shows- fig loses perplex bonus.
Fig A damaged or healed and perplex doesn't show - fig loses perplex bonus
Fig A has outwit and targets Fig B. Fig B damaged or healed and outwitted power still shows on dial - outwit still in effect.
Fig A damaged or healed and outwit still shows - outwit still in effect.
Fig A damaged or healed and outwit doesn't show - outwit not in effect.
Fig B damaged or healed and outwitted power does not show - outwit not in effect.
I believe that should cover it - fix me if I'm wrong.
There is also an important differentiation between "possessing" Outwit / Perplex and having a Special Power allowing the "use"of Perplex/Outwit.
If you possess and use Outwit, then are clicked to where an SP allows the use of Outwit, whatever power or ability that was Outwitted is no longer countered as Outwit is no longer showing on the dial.
For example, SI Spider-Woman on her 1st click uses Outwit to counter SI Iron Man's Invulnerability. She then Pushes to attack, losing Outwit but gaining AGENT PROVOCATEUR, which allows the use of Outwit. If she missed the attack, I-M's Invulnerability is no longer countered.
Since S-W has not used AGENT PROVOCATEUR, she may immediately use the Outwit granted by her SP to counter another power.

The bold one is wrong.

Ambush Bug is on Click #2 (Probability Control).
I use Outwit to counter his Prob Control.
My Moloid smacks Ambush Bug for 1 damage.
Ambush Bug is now on Click #3 (Outwit).
My other Moloid hits Ambush Bug for 1 damage.
Ambush Bug is now on Click #4 (back to Probability Control).
That Probability Control is still countered.

Ya, I totally agree and that's what I'm saying. When clicked from PC to the OW click, whatever was outwitting PC doesn't have any effect but once the PC comes back onto the dial, it is still outwitted because the outwitted power is still present. But I wasn't clear in that I see so thanks for the clarity!!!
