Just a quick re-paint. I actually make three of them at the same time and gave the other ones to a few local big GoG fans......they were going to ask anyway.
I was able to save the stars on his gloves and upper arm. I tried to keep the blue around the upper star but opted not to try to add it. I also like the grifter-mask and didn't consider doing the hard plate one he adopted in the GoG book. I'm very happy with how he turned out................gotta get that Gamora painted up to match the rest of the team soon.
================================
Next up is a mod I've been planning since we first saw Cap poster...........
Dare Devil: The defender of Hells Kitchen (with baton throwing action!)
#1 It lets me see what that cap body would look like with a better sized head...............it looks much better, IMO.
#2 I was going to have to find an Avengers dial to put DD on soon anyway........I can live with this one. Not perfect by any stretch but it's OK......I also like his chance a taking out Bullseye.
#3 This let me see exactly how unfriendly this bendy plastic in this set is going to be. It didn't help shaving down the details at all.........I managed to get most off but under Macro you can see a few of the stripes and some of the chainmail.
#4 It gives me an idea of how rough it is going to be to do other customs out of this fig..........I've got a few more ideas.
So the head is from my parts box, specifically the CM DD(still love that sculpt). The baton is from Namor's Tritent from SI.
As for the shield.......the original plan was to paint it solid white with the batton on top (similar to how it turned out) but the it occured to me that taking the shield out and putting it back in would probably make a mess of that. So mid way though I decided to sand away most of the red from both sides of the shield and do a very light coat of white (similar to the motion effect) to help hide the little bits that I couldnt get off.
He's not perfect but I really like the overall look.
===================================
And for the last one I was shown this a little while ago.......
Seeing how I am a big Spider fan and 9 of those 11 characters are among my favorites........I have a new project to do!
So first up......somehow it didn't occur to me that I was going to have to do the web of the costume........I've always skipped it before and been happy. But I didn't think it was going to cut it here..........so I filed down the tooth pick and got to work. Unfortuantly, as a result my toothpick painting looks quite herendous under Macro.......blochy and lumpy but in hand it is fairly good. The spider on his chest.....yeah not going to lie about that. I'm probably going to have to go back and fix that up.
All that put in perspective.....he's OK. I think the next few figs in the Spider Island mold will be much better though.

Like always, thanks for looking and commenting if you do.

It is almost upon us! Are you prepared for the Quarmageddon?
Did you prime the figures before you painted them? What brand of paint do you use. Oh yeah, Nice work!
Some times I do.......most of the time actually. For Jack I didn't as I was trying to keep his stars and the color around them as is. But I can get away with that as that black I use is fairly good a going on with just one coat (I did a second anyway though).
But for my primer I have been using FolkArt 708 Dove Gray.
I use a few differnt brands of paint...a few of them are;
FolkArt, DecoArt, Americana, Delta Creamcoat.........and most of the acrylics that Micheals carries.

Can't wait to see how the rest of the Artisan Guild's turn out. Like I said I'm farily sure he will be the most re-painted fig of this set.
As for changing his 'grifter-mask' to the hard plate mast he changed to..........no plans at all. The hard plate mask is fine but the 'grifter-mask' really stands out, IMHO. If he did have the hard plate mask I might try to make it into the 'grifter-mask'.

Thanks...............feel free. I constantly look at what others are doing for ideas......you know 'idea borrowing'. I'd be happy to contribute some ideas to the pool, as it were.

Nice work traitorarmor and thanks again for the Jack. He'll be getting some play time very soon. The others are nice too. I've yet to see a bad mod from you. Remember, we agree on you giving me cash for the kind words

Well I try not to share the profanities that my moding sometimes produces.
There is a Daken (who will never be completed) and a Rene Montoya which will never see the light of day. :speechles

Oh, but new stuff is ready to be shown! I'm going to get some 'in-play' pics tonight and post them tonight/tomorrow. I think they turned out really, really well. Hint/teaser: Hail Hydra!
