"Kang does suck. Having RCE does him no good when he gets based. At that point you have a really expensive Thug that can keep running, and is hard to kill."
By that rationale, Bullseye sucks, too. Ecept that once you base Bullseye, he doesn't even have the option of Phasing to run away. At least if Kang is set up with some Shield/Enhance help (as he should be), he can Pulse Wave his way out of trouble when based. Bullseye has to waste actions to break away, or plink away one click at a time. RCE does no figs any good when they are based, not just Kang. So if you are putting Kang into a position where he can be based, it's you're fault if he gets lumped. Not Kang. Kang Rules.
But I was thinking about this thread, and how this type of attack could never occur under the Indyclix rules. It made me sad.
It's a time of great change for all clixers right now, and I am no different. My Kang strategies have been thrown out the window, pretty much. The times they are a' changin'.
However, this tale of Kang may be his highest accomplishment ever, as now, such glorious damage he can never fully repeat.
So long, Kang. Back to the bottom of the tackle box with you.
It was fun while it lasted.
I agree with you that Kang is awsome. My friends and I had a 2 vs 2 match against each other. Each person on a team had their 10 best figures. So we had all of the heavy weights in there(V Thor, OWAW supes, SOD Supes, Savage Hulk, V Dr. Doom, Thanos, etc). Well about half way into the game it's looking pretty even. But my E Kang is stuck in a room far away from the action while everyone else is getting hammered by Frirelord and Doom. So I take the E green lantern and have him phase Kang into the middle of the action and then fly away so green lantern doesn't get hurt. Then I have Kang pulse wave. It wasn't damage upped but it was still awsome. Dr. Doom, Juggernaut, Thing, Apocalypse, Firelord, Thor, and more took damage, which seriously damaged their team. My opponents weren't too happy.
Also why did you say that you where going to put Kang up now because of the new rules? Kang is now even better with the new rules because now pulsewave cuts through every single power, making figs like Kang very useful. Although, you can't shoot and taxi him so I would go with a Blizzard and a tker.

Yeah, the new rules make Kang's Pulse Wave very dangerous, but the thing is, everyone knows it now. He's only got it for one click, so doing one damage to Kang will be your opponent's priority once he's plopped on the map.
The thing that I'll miss most is the interaction of Shield/Enhance with the multi-target Pulse Wave. As it stands now, Pulse Wave will only ever do 1 damage when more than one fig is targetted. I can see why - with PW's new boost, Shield and Enhance would make it too powerful.
It just hurts to think that I'll be replacing all of those Shiled guys for Con Artists when I play Kang now. (To boost his range and damage on single target Pulse Waves.)
But you are definately right - Blizzard is going to be tough as nails now with Running Shot and PW - his Vet has the attack of 11, too.
Yeah you're right about all of the enchantment and shield damage upping. But whos to stop you from playing the old rules? Only tournaments will make you play by the new ones. You and your brother could still play by the other ones. I asked my friends if they liked the new rules, and we decided on a few that we liked, and then the rest of them we ignored(like the taxi rules).

Good points, Silver Viper. I don't really play in tourneys too much. So for our friendly games we will probubly come up with some house rules.
But here's the thing - we used to play Fliers can't carry fliers, but we ended up nixing that rule b/c we agreed that we wanted to play by the official rules, so that if we did go to a tourney, we'd be on the same page as everyone else.
Eh. I guess it's not as big of a deal as I'm making it out to be. I'll still play for fun as I usually do. The thing that concerns me most is the factioning that may occur here on this site - the Marvel and DC heads sometimes don't get along - what will happen now that half of us will be playing different rules, ya know?
I thought that they were changing the rules for both marvel and dc. I didn't hear about that I just assumed it. Wow, that will make marvel and dc very different. o well the game will still be fun to play anyways, and it's having fun that counts.

The word that I heard about the rules change is that it is for Indy clix only. Unless thats me recieving mis-information. The only way that the new Indy rules come into play with Marvel and DC is if we personally decide to play with the rules or we throw in any Indy clix on our teams. Thats just one from for the rumour mill. Let me know if thats me getting mis-informed.
Thanks.
There is a 300 point team that I use that takes advantage of Rookie Kang, who is quite an effective piece in my eyes. Look at Kang and see his weaknesses...
Kangs attack rating is ALWAYS solid. He has a beautiful range,a nd keeps his damage at 3 due to RCE for almost the entire dial. What drops? HIs defense...toss him next to a rookie Invisible Girl and he becomes a BEAST. Say they take down those clix of Invuln...he now has ESD to give him a 20 defense vs ranged attacks. Kang suddenly becomes deadly. Always a combo ive enjoyed :P

Couldn't agree more w/ the Invisible Girl / Kang combo, Gorrack. Also, a nice cheap BCF'er works out nicely as a "bodygaurd" for Kang in these situations - makes tha opponent think twice about basing him in the first place...
