Traded for her, and have been toying with teams built around that weird special ability. I have questions about its interaction with other powers, though.

First and foremost I'm wondering if it works with Defend. Can I pair her with, say, a Strong Guy to pump his defense value, who could then lend that defense value (on his 3rd and 4th clicks) with Defend to, say, an army of Multiple Men? *shivers*

Defend, according to the PAC, transfers "unmodified" defense value. Caiera makes the adjacent character's defense "become" 18. Does that count as "modifying" it?

The Banner-AE-to-Outback Hulk + Caiera combo has already been mentioned elsewhere, and it smells delicious.

Another idea: Caiera + Hulkmariner (who she gives the 18 to) + Namora, who can carry them both (Caiera has Ruler keyword; Hulkmariner has Atlantis). Any ideas on how to fill out these teams?

"Modify" specifically refers to adding or subtracting. Defend and Caiera's power "replace" the defense value of the character.

And you always replace, then modify.

One combination, if you want people to look at you funny is Caiera with Sam (from Lord of the Rings).

Caiera makes Sam's defense 18. Sam then uses...

... and can share an 18, 19, 20, or 21, depending on what you're willing to risk.

Note that those are replacement values, so perplex can make those even higher, as long as the perplex is on the defense of the character benefitting from Defend.

And he's got defend on his first click, which is excellent.
In fact, looks like Sam, Frodo, and Frodo & Sam all have interesting interactions with the Caiera SP... and altogether they'd make a 299 point Hobbit-themed team.

I recently used her power on juggs to make him a constant 19 defense I dominated my dad that game he only killed poor jj

I want to use Caiera with The Human Target. He gives her Shape Change, she makes it harder to hit him when the Shape CHange works. Seems like a fair trade.

I was thinking about Human Target before. I think the best bet might be a Caiera + (some Defend-user, probably Sam) + Human Target all in a group.

By the way, Strong Guy + Caiera works as an awesome core for a X-Factor theme team. :D
