Now THIS is a finesse piece. Lots of support powers, no range, not all-rounded, won't hurt a smart Invulnerable piece, needs Stealthy teammates and The Society ATA. But he's cheap enough, considering his expensive TA, and the double Regen means you'll usually see that part of his dial in a game.

There is a lot wrong with this figure that could have been overlooked with an actual printed range (even 4 would do):
The IL TA is hard to use without ranged attacks.
Zero-Range Barrier is my least favorite dial combination, even worse IMO than zero-range Incapacitate. Whenever I see 0-range barrier, it makes me think that the designer just doesn't play the game.
I also had to deduct points for both playability and accuracy: given the powerset on this dial, the ability to make lots of hindering terrain doesn't help him. He has no stealth, and his "extra damage against opponents in hindering terrain" isn't helping him if he has to burn an action to MAKE hindering terrain (and then watch it go away).
I know you want to try a team build with the formula : (Floronic Man x2 + Flashbang x2) x (Build total/100). Your opponent will be so busy laughing they're bound to make a fatal mistake!
You know, I agree, you dont get alot. but you dont pay alot ether, for his price tag he gets stuff done, four clicks of 17D, his av is solid (for the cost) his entire dial, and can even regen to 100% effectiveness. I like his damage power alot, actually, reading these comments on here you would think 1/2 of competitive teams out there are not using stealth and maps don't have hindering terrain. When used Properly you have a 47 Point peice full of 9AV/17D/3Da consistancy. He is a tie up peice that not only ties up, but also chokes as well!
was happy when i saw this fig was in the set... then i saw the fig. i was hopen something i could take up against a rookie Swamp thing but *sigh didnt happen
Consistent stats and Regen make this guy surprisingly long-lasting, even though his attack numbers don't let him tackle the Stealth/CombatReflexes lot that his damage SP seems geared to fight. The 0-range Barrier thing is so situational it's hardly worth mentioning. The mega Smoke-Cloud isn't bad, though, since on certain maps he can totally gum up the works for grounded speedsters while protecting himself from all sides.

SCORE: 50%. In 2013, the new Barrier rules go to a minimum range of 4, which is a slight improvement from 2012. But old Hydrangea-Head here won't really see much time on the field until we see a new Injustice League team ability. (If the IL team ability was the same as Masters of Evil, we'd all be singing his praises as an immortal Barrier-thrower or smoke generator.)

I never understoon why no one liked florinic man! Now more than ever his usefullness is oozing a green hue. His barrier is now more useful, his smokecloud is still one of the best in the game considering he can pop out 8 markers instead of 4....and now instead of 6! He is still ahead of the game! Have a friendly with empower carry him around the board. His damage buff is unique as its easily activated as it only requires adjacency to hindering...now plant boy is dishing out 4 damage! His point value makes him an easy addition to my society teams....
47 points for 6 clicks plus regeneration makes him great mastermind fodder for Dr. Psycho, while also throwing up the occasional barrier or smoke cloud.
