Or you modify the damage at the time the attack lands?
Spider-Man has 2 damage and Super Strength, carrying a Light Object, which modifies his damage by 1, making it 3, illegal for the assignment of Pounce?
Again? No.
When the change from damage dealt to damage value was first introduced to objects all those many moons ago, Pounce and objects didn't get a long so well... and objects haven't changed since.
However, a little while ago now, a clarification was added to Pounce that says:
Objects do not alter a character’s damage value until it is used in a successful attack. Therefore, objects – carried held or picked up during the action that includes the attack – would not violate the prerequisite of this feat.
So again, objects add to damage value (and have for some time... this isn't new), but Pounce also works okay with object because of that clarification (also not new, but not as old as the tweak to objects and damage).
