I think I know the answer to this question but it never hurts to get a second opinion. OK, if I'm building a 400 Point Avengers Theme Team (needing 4 Named keyword characters) and I want to use Morgan Le Fay(Not an Avenger) do I need to already have 4 characters on my team to qualify as a Theme before I add Morgan Le Fay or can I use 3 Avengers and Morgan and still qualify?

My Alternate Avengers: Morgan Le Fay can use Perplex, but only to target a character with the Avengers keyword. When she does, she may use it normally, or she can modify any value except damage by +2 or -2. An Avengers themed team may include Morgan Le Fay and is still a themed team.

Morgan does not have the Avengers keyword. She won't prevent you from making a themed team, but she won't help you, either.

And, just in case, this also means she won't count for the first player bonus to roll or for themed team PC. In this specific regard, think of her as a VERY expensive bystander token.

So I would need 4 Avengers and Morgan at the 301-600 Point value to qualify? Just want to be 100% sure I understand.

Right. You need Avengers to make an Avengers themed team and Morgan is not an Avenger.

I found this thread. Thank you gold for explaining Morgan. I was very confused about her.

This is basically how I ran a scenario called "guest starring" - you could have one character who did not share the keyword, it would count as a bystander for game purposes, i.e. neither helping or hurting a theme

Easy way to simulate it without having clunky wording

normalview mentioned it but its worth repeating on its own:

Morgan cannot take a token to use Theme Team Prob Control on an Avengers team as you must have the Avengers keyword.

Morgan is NOT a bystander token. So the way I see it, she cannot use theme prob or count towards the number of characters needed to make a theme team, but I do think the rules as worded would allow her to give plus one to map roll as she's a character on your force and you have a theme team.

If you wish to rule it that way, go ahead.

However, Morgan Le Fay does not count for (or against) Avengers Themed teams. As far as theme-iness goes, she doesn't exist. No +1 to the roll off.

Please keep in mind that the themed team rules are written in a general sense. There is no way they can account for every single little wrinkle that may crop up due to traits and other character specific rules interactions. These rules may mention bystanders specifically... but that is only because, before Morgan, bystanders were the only characters that behaved in this fashion.
